Hi Dr. Sears,

I'm desperate for you help. We are traveling to a Measles source country in Eastern Europe that currently has a Measles outbreak. Our 21 month old is coming along . I am not comfortable giving her the MMR II or the Priorix vaccines as they are cultured using human diploid cells from aborted fetuses.

Is there any way for me to get her a monovalent vaccine anywhere in the US or Canada? If not would it be any use to get one in another country en route to our destination? We will be in Eastern Europe for 7-8 weeks so even if immunity takes awhile I think it would be worth it.

Any ideas???

Thanks

I don't know any sources in the U.S. or Canada for the monovalent vaccine. It MAY be in Europe, but I don't know which countries.  I understand your desire to get the monovalent, but I just don't know how.
