Hi Dr. Sears,

I wondered if you have any insights/suggestions on dealing with warts especially with young child.

For a while now, my daughter (#2) has had two warts on the sides of her fingers ,((daughter (#1) and I have had these type in the past--and easily got rid of them with calamine lotion)).  Now daughter (#2) has broken out in more small flat warts all over her one hand--about 6 more small circles.

I'm not sure why this suddenly happened.  I try the calamine lotion, but it's hard to keep her hands dry since she loves water and she always seems to have sweaty hands.   She also tends to pull off band-aids and even hates me looking at the hand to see if the warts are getting better...sigh.  I figured I'd try apple cider vinegar next.

Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Hey - I don't know of a specific effective wart treatment for small flat warts.  For regular warts (that are raised with a jagged top), if usually do the OTC wart acid salicylic acid.

I've been rinsing her hand with apple cider vinigar and powdering her hand with baby powder a few times per day (something that came to me when I was writing my first post--how to get her hands less clammy)...and seems to be helping.  A few of them are starting to get the black spots...I think that's a sign that things are working?
