Hello, Dr. Sears.

I was re-reading your book recently and wanted to know more information in regard to the link you cite between the MMR in postpubescent females and the development of auto-immune responses like chronic arthritis.  You list three citations for this on p. 262 (Howson C., et al., JAMA 1992; Ogra P., et al., J of Immunology 1971; and Chantler J., et al., Lancet 1982),  Do you know if there have been any more recent studies replicating these findings since the most recent of these is over two decades old?  Do you know if this is still considered an issue in regard to the current MMR vaccine?

Thank you,

I don't know of any new studies. This info IS listed in the vaccine product insert, so I know it's still relevant. And it does apply to the current MMR vaccine
