the primary risk in India that we don't have here is Polio. If you've been getting vaccines already, then you should already have that one. If you are following my alternative schedule, though, you won't have them yet. I'd suggest it. I don't know how to compare the safety of what is done in India, however. Other than Polio, there's no other large risk. You can review the other disease risks in the travel chapter, but I'd say they are minor.
