Can you tell me if you would vaccinate a child whose father has multiple sclerosis since MS is both a neurological disorder and an autoimmune disorder?

Thanks. I read some information about that in your books, The Vaccine Book & The Autism Book.

Is there any information I can give to my pediatrician to enlighten him on the subject? I brought it up before that my husband has MS, but my pediatrician said that was not an issue when it comes to vaccinating our son.

Appreciate the help.

I don’t know of any supporting data. My answer is really just based on my opinion.

Actually, another question related to this.

When you say you would not vaccinate in this case...

Do you mean you would never vaccinate the child? Or you would delay until a certain age?

I understand that only I can make the decision I feel is right for my child, I'm just curious to hear your opinion. Your books have helped me to actually understand vaccinations and I wish there were more people out there who were pro-vaccine, but feel that it's reasonable for parents to proceed with caution / based on their own personal circumstances.

Thanks again!

I have ankylosing spondylitis which is associated with HLA-b27, as is MS. I also have narcolepsy, which is an autoimmune and neurological disorder typically associated with certain HLAs (human leukocyte antigens). Basically, genetic markers. Recently my Xh decided to push for our kiddo to get vaccinated, and with a custody battle in progress, I wasn't going to argue, but I asked our pediatrician to test dd before proceeding with vaccinating her. Thankfully, she tested negative for all the HLAs associated with my conditions!! Though I still don't love the idea of tampering with her immune system, I feel a lot better knowing at least she won't suffer the disabling combination of illnesses that I do.

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd share my two cents in case it might help someone in a similar predicament.
