it will empty the intestines well- Magnesium citrate - smooth muscle relaxant which probably won't bring on contractions, and probably will not stir up the gallstones
---- I did want to comment about other laxatives too, senna and cascara do trigger the gall bladder to dump and are considered to be counterindicated if you have gallbladder problems
