Client had blood drawn @ 14 weeks... she did have awful morning sickness, but not hyperemesis....she is vegetarian and just turning the corner, regaining appetite. Lab values were all normal, including hemoglobin and hematocrit. But the red blood cell count was low. My thinking is that it is on its way up, but have you seen this before?

What were the numbers? Sounds like all her lab values were not normal if the RBC is low.

No! Mistake- oops! These are the results- RBC 3.76, HGB 12.8, HCT 36

I might want to follow up in a few weeks just to be sure it's not getting worse, but I have seen this and it did not turn out to be a problem.
