Lactation Professions

Hello! My name is Anna, and I'm interested in working with mothers in a lactation field. There are so many different certifications and programs out there, though, and I'm having trouble figuring out what the requirements(for example, is a college degree a pre-requisite? If so, what specific degrees?) are for each one, and which ones are the best.
Could you lovely ladies help me sort some of this out?

I was looking at CLE, CLC and IBCLC. I've sent emails out to people regarding all of these, but the answers I'm receiving back have been a bit vague. I'm looking to find out if there are college degree requirements on any of these, what the pay range might be like, any any other information ya'll might have to share!

Thank you so much!

Welcome to Mothering AutumnSun! What a great career choice! Of the 3 certifications you mentioned, I believe IBCLC has the most requirements. I believe the other 2 vary depending on where you get your certification. Many organizations have their own programs and they all have different requirements. I believe there was a recent thread about this. I will try to find it for you.

Thank you; I've been hitting up the search box, but I hadn't seen that thread, and it looks really helpful! I've noticed the many programs and variations, it's a bit intimidating to sort through!
