I *think* that I can do a good job, but then I remember this woman I met when I was pregnant with my second. Her intentions were good, but upon hearing the birth story of my firstborn she pointed out every instance where I had made a less than optimal choice. I all ready knew everything she was telling me, and I all ready regretted it all. She was just so excited about the technicalities of birth that she didn't recognize my needs as a pregnant woman.
I'm a resilent person. She didn't do lasting damage to me or to my self esteem, but I can see that that type of enthusiasm could be very hurtful to some people. I want to be sure that I don't fall into the same trap.
I would definately appreciate any words of wisdom from those in the birth fields (professionally or as a hobby), or of course from all women or mothers.
