I delivered my a baby in a birthing center in Montreal. Here it is still quite marginal doing it this way but let me tell you our experience was one of the nicest thing. It exceeded our expectations even my husband. I can not describe the emotions that you feel when she arrived in a calm environment , went straight on my belly and stayed there for 45 minutes just staring at each other. The way the midwives help you is unbelievable. At one point I was wondering why I did not go for technology when the hospital is 3 blocks up but in the end am I glad it went this way. You guys are great. I can understand now that if you are in a hospital bed and can't move and they offer you the epidural you would take it but if only women would get the support they need they would realize that the pain is there for a reason and that at the end you get the biggest gift life can give you.
It is not just the birth but the global approach and the whole process that makes the delivery with a midwives so great.
