I'm sure there is a thread about this somewhere but I can't find it.

I want to get my doula (a close friend, not trained but amazing at my birth) a present, hopefully for Mother's Day. I came across pretty mommy tags (necklace) but they are a bit over my price range at $75. Anyone have any more affordable ideas??

I'm as easy as it gets when it comes to giving me gifts.

I have unexpectedly received lotions and soap from Evelyn and Crabtree.
I adore these type of gifts.
I once got three bars of french soap from the store L'Occitane.

These types of products are usually more expensive then I would buy for myself but i adore expensive lotions and soaps.

I also have received money in a card with a beautiful note (I think money is always a nice gift).

I do not like jewelry gifts unless you really know me well !
Most people are very gracious and would love anything you give as a gift!

We doulas are usually also moms, but either way we don't get pampered much . I always wanted a massage or facial or something after attending someone's birth and giving so much of myself. I wanted to re-fill my emotional cup and feel pampered because i was sometimes exhausted from being very attentive during a long labor and birth even if it is rewarding. So give her the gift of pampering.

I adore gifts like a gift certificate for a restaurant or and ice cream shop because then I take my family out. My dh and kids miss me when I am away and they deal with never knowing when I will be around so a treat for all of us together is wonderful.

What about a subscription to mothering?

Also on ebay sometimes you can get some good doula type necklaces.

Like a pp suggested a note would be the most special to me.
