Hey wise women,

I had a m/c in the spring, a blighted ovum, at 12 weeks. We started trying again last cycle and had a chemical. I got a beta at day 14po and my progesterone was a 1 and my hcg was showing "non-pregnant" levels, whatever that means?...

This time I'd like to start using some progesterone cream, which I already have on hand and its 10mg per 1/8 tsp. If I'm trying to use it to prevent miscarriage, when would you recommend starting it and how much should I use daily? (I'm pretty sure I ovulated today-ewcm turned to sticky and cervix dropped)

I had the beta called in by my ND last month, but she didn't have an appt until October so I couldn't get in to see her to help me out this month, and I don't have an OB and my midwife didn't even know what a beta was when I called her when I started bleading last month! So I'm kindof on my own here. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks!
Sadie

Hi Sadie,

I'm not a birth prof., but I am dealing with the being pregnant and supplementing with prog. right now. I also go to an ND who is a midwife also. I've done tons of research on this issue in the past few weeks and it seems like it's always good to have a prescription dose of NATURAL prog. recommeneded by a ND. My ND knows of my situation with low prog and was able to call a rx in to a compounding pharmacy. I didn't even need to go in for a visit. Here's the pharmacy link maybe they will be able to help out in some way...

I used the progesterone cream that is sold at whole foods when I got pregnant while nursing. I just used the amount recommended on the tube, though I cannot remember how much that was. I now have a 1 year old bubbly boy to show

Good luck.
