What tried and true alternatives have you used with success?

Licensed Midwife in attendance.  Mother tested + for GBS at 37 weeks. Would like to avoid IV ABX

Mother is planning to labor at home for as long as possible. If the labor moves along quickly enough, she's not sure she'll even go to the hospital

Labor at home as long as possible or is desired. Unless the water breaks, then get to the abx immediately. Good luck. I will be thinking of you. GBS is not to be taken lightly!!

Having the client perform Iodine douchings or hebiclens douchings are even more effective than treatment with antibiotics.  Here is a link on some of the info...

The chlorohexidine vaginal lavage is one to be taken seriously, especially with it's multitude of mis-spellings.  If we are informing our clients who and seeking alternative therapies from other sources, we must, truly, be able to provide, at a minimum of the correct spelling of such an important intervention, in the avoidance of abx intravenously.  Providers cannot possible be providing informed consent, packed with current data, to support families to make the best possible choice for them, if they cannot even spell.   Any one want to try to explain the hows and whys of testing according to the CDC protocol, and why the testing occurs at 36 weeks pregnancy?  If you are discussing the adequately with clients, you should be able to do so on anonymous internet board

Perhaps the makers of Hibiclens spell it incorrectly as well? The bottle says chlorhexadine gluconate.
