My friend, who is 39 weeks along, just called me to tell me her water had broken. Her fluid is clear, and the baby is moving. She is having mild contractions. Not long after she said she passed a large clot, that was deep red. She is calling her midwife, but wants to labor at home for as long as possible. This will be her VBAC2. How concerned should she be about the clot?
That is something that isn't safe to assess on an online forum. She needs to have a discussion with her care provider about to so they can talk about the actual size of the clot and such and plans to monitor the baby. She should be concerned enough to contact her care provider ASAP.
