I am expecting my second child and live in Marion, VA. We are relatively new to Southwest VA having moved here in February and do not have family in the area. We are not familiar with the health care facilities in the area and are not really pleased with our healthcare system or pharmaceutical industry in general....so we are looking into an alternative way to be taken care of during pregnancy and delivery.
Does anyone have any insight into where we should look to select a midwife or find a birthing center nearby?

I know there is at least one or two CPM's in Roanoke, but I don't know if they go as far as Marion. The one I was able to easily find online could be contacted though. If she isn't an option, she'd likely know who is. Check out her website here: http://breathoflifemidwifery.webs.com/aboutus.htm
