I would recommend contacting the Association of Texas Midwives and letting them know what you're looking for.

Here's a link to the midwives listed on the Association of Texas Midwives. http://www.texasmidwives.com/findamidwife.asp?search=st

I used Vicky Wells (I believe she was a former president of the Association of Texas Midwives)for my first pregnancy. In addition to being quite pleased with her as my midwife, I also noted that she had quite a few other midwives in training or current midwives who were interested in establishing a birthing center who came through her practice at various times in my pregnancy.

I'd possibly suggest starting by contacting those midwives closest to you on the list and going from there. Of course, my perspective is from a single observation, but from all the midwives I met during that time, they seem to be a group of women who enjoy working together and helping others get involved in the process.
