I am interviewing a couple of doulas in coffee shops, and I am wondering if the etiquette is that I am supposed to buy their drinks and/or snacks?  Or would we typically go Dutch?

As a nanny, I have done interviews in coffee shops, and the Mom (the interviewer) usually offers to treat me (the interviewee), though often I have already gotten my drink when she arrives.  Another doula is coming to my home, and I will obviously have drinks available to offer her in that setting.

I'd go Dutch. If you feel a special connection to her pre-interview perhaps get a snack to split.

add me to the "arrive early and pay for my own" for interviews...

the only time i would treat is if i'm meeting up with a former client for a catch up session...

I also always pay for my own, as do they. No other option has ever occurred to me.

I'm a doula.  I arrive early and pay for my own.  I don't assume that my client (pregnant mom) will even want anything.

I think each should pay for their own drink. It's a job interview, after all. The doulas can also deduct the cost of their drinks from their taxes.
