As I said in the title of this thread, I am a 21 year old 1st time Mom-to-be. Unfortunately at the moment, I have no income. I would very much like to have a doula for my birth as I want my baby to be born without medications if possible. I am looking for a doula, free/low cost, near Charleston, West Virginia. If anyone has any information on any or on where I can look, please let me know. Thank you very much.
A doula's not necessarily there to ensure that your baby's born without medication. A doula is an advocate, she's someone who can help you work through decisions when you are in labor, someone who acts as a liason between you and the medical staff, someone who offers labor support and encouragement for you and your partner.
