I'm considering doing the Lamaze CBE program and was wondering how the experience was for others. There is a lot that I like about the program and I'm really excited about it as a possibility. I didn't see anything on the website about having to attend births. Is this a requirement? Also, did you purchase your study guide first or attend a seminar first? If you attended a seminar, did the free online membership include the study guide?
Am I the only one who finds it annoying that they charge so much for the study guide and you have to pay an additional amount to have it printed? That really rubs me the wrong way.
I am a program director for one of the Lamaze Childbirth Educator Programs (The Family Way in Houston.) The complimentary online membership that you can apply for AFTER you attend a seminar does not include the Study Guide. But Lamaze membership does entitle you to apply for a discount card at FedEx Office for printing. Using the Lamaze FedEx discount substantially reduces the cost of printing the Study Guide. If you know anyone who has a heavy-duty printer that prints in duplex (two-sided copies), the Study Guide can be printed on that printer too. I hope this helps.
