Hi all!  I have a history of early pregnancy losses and two second trimester losses, so although my +HPT was nearly a month ago, I was a bit hesitant to join.  But I decided that I'd rather embrace this pregnancy in the moment, and enjoy it, and mourn it later if need be.

*Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by):  Rhiann

*EDD:  Early March(March 2-9? Finding out next week.)

*Age/ age when the baby will be born:

*Location:  CA Bay Area!!!!

*How long it took you to get your BFP:  Three years, too many losses, lots of tears and lots of hope!

*What number child is this for you: 2nd

*Family (partner, other children, pets):  DP, Jesse, DD(4 years, still nursing!), 2 dogs, 2 cats and the rest of my

*Birth plans/preferences:  I would LOVE a homebirth!

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share: I have PCOS & RPL.  I'm longing for another sweet babe to fill my arms after TTC for too long.  My last term pregnancy was wonderful except that I ended up with Preeclampsia around 30 weeks, went on hospital bedrest around 32.5 and was induced at 36.5.  I really, really, really want a homebirth, or even a birth without interventions, but I'm SO afraid of becoming preeeclamptic again.

Rhiann - I developed pre-e with my DD, too. So we can commiserate on the flashbacks of crappy hospital labor (isn't Mag-Sulf the worst thing ever?), and worries about getting it again, and dream of how awesome our home births are going to be ;)

Still kinda hesitant to join, but I have decided to stop stressing out about another m/c and try to love every minute I'm pregnant.  This month was the last month we were going to try before taking a break and thinking about just having one, so I am pretty excited.

*Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by): Shannon

*EDD: March 25 (by LMP) or March 23 (by FF)

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 36

*Location: Northeast Ohio

*How long it took you to get your BFP: 18 months, including 2 miscarriages.  7 months from last miscarriage.

*What number child is this for you: 2

*Family (partner, other children, pets): DH Brian, DD (4) -- may be exactly 5 years apart.

*Birth plans/preferences:  Birth center (possible water birth) with MW

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share:  Trying to stay positive.  After all the recurrent loss testing showed no issues, the RE wanted me to take Lovenox, for no real reason.  I did agree to take the baby aspirin, estrace, and prometrium.  Not being "released" to my MW until 12 weeks, well, unless I decide otherwise. ;)

So far I'm not super-impressed with his office, since they didn't know you could test before you were "late".  Seriously, an IVF clinic doesn't know about early pregnancy tests?  They were shocked at my "low" betas until they realized I wasn't even 4 weeks yet.

I had a post birth eclamptic seizure six days after my little dude was born and ended up back in the hospital for an additional three days. Scares me to death that I might end up with high blood pressure again (when the paramedics took my BP in the ambulance my systolic was over 200 and my diastolic was over 100...can't remember the exact numbers cause I only heard it after the fact). I have a chunk of 12 hours of my life I can't remember even though I was awake.

I am going to be so much more careful both in how I take care of myself and in what hospital I pick...cause a friend of mine who is a nurse is beyond baffled as to why they would release me from the hospital in the shape I was in (still at my pre-birth weight with severely swollen and painful legs) and why after my reason for transporting to the hospital (high blood pressure) why they wouldn't make checking that out a priority before releasing me!!

What was insane was that I had a picture perfect pregnancy up till the last week or so, and even then it was only some slight swelling in my ankles.

You can take me off the list. An ultrasound at my RE's office showed that there was nothing but a gestational sac by 7 weeks, and I started bleeding a few days later. This one just wasn't meant to be. Good luck to all of the rest of you.

*EDD: Don't know---I am breastfeeding and haven't had a consistent cycle. I'm somewhere between 4 and 8 weeks pregnant. ETA: I just got my hCG numbers back and they put me roughly between 6 and 7 weeks gestation. Of course, it's highly inaccurate, but at least it's narrowed down slightly. I'm putting "early March" for my guess-date.

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 21/22

*Location: Italy

*How long it took you to get your BFP: We weren't trying or avoiding

*What number child is this for you: 2

*Family (partner, other children, pets): Dh Caleb, 9mo Ds Malachi

*Birth plans/preferences: planning my second homebirth

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share: I didn't have any ultrasounds at all with Malachi, but since I don't have a good idea of when I conceived I am considering an early ultrasound (next week) to date the pregnancy. Mainly because my midwives can't catch at home after 42 weeks, so I want an accurate due date. I know ultrasounds aren't perfect, but an early one is actually very accurate and there is no other way to date the pregnancy that is more accurate. Hcg numbers are too vague. I'm shocked, but excited! Pre-baby my ovulation signs were obvious and blatant, so for me to TOTALLY miss that I was ovulating is shocking to me.

Proud wife to my handsome husband partners.gif Malachi David (2010) and Jeremiah Daniel (2012) joined our family via two lovely homebirths. Rainbow.gif Doula for 7 years and now finally an apprentice midwife! bellycast.gif

Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by): Sara

*EDD: March 29, 2012

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 29/30

*Location: Kansas City, MO

*How long it took you to get your BFP: We conceived in January, and had a loss in March. It has been 5 cycles since our loss, and two cycle before our loss, so 7 months of trying.

*What number child is this for you: #1 for myself, #2 for my husband

*Family (partner, other children, pets):  My husband is 31, and my step daughter will be 8 next week. She will be thrilled when we tell her. She took the loss of our baby in March pretty hard. We won't be telling her until 12 weeks this time.

*Birth plans/preferences: Hospital with my OB/GYN. I have multiple health issues that would make a homebirth really complicated.

Excited, but so far, my nerves far outweigh my excitement. I was recently diagnosed with severe cervical displaysia, and we were actually planning a LEEP, not a baby! I also have a bladder disease that has only recently become very well-managed. Hopefully pregnancy will put me into remission. It would be so nice to eat all of the foods I am sure to crave.
