Sticky dust to you zubeldia dust.gif

I'll be looking for your update!

Scheduled our US for 7/27 at 7pm.  So. Far. Away.

But, I'll be just shy of 8 weeks so if it's going to be there, we should see a nice strong heartbeat.  Hoping that all of this nausea is a good sign of a sticky, healthy, happy pregnancy, just like the last one :)

Yay for seeing the heartbeat, bcblondie!  Very exciting and encouraging!

Zubeldia if your chart is correct and you are 6w exactly, you would be just on the edge of when you could hope to see a heartbeat.  Generally the heartbeat can be visualized for the first time between 6w-7w.  My understanding is, you should be able to see a gestational sac and fetal pole and if they are appropriately sized and no heartbeat, all may be totally fine and it's just a few days too early to see HB.

You might be able to see the heart, but for sure should be able to see the sac and fetal pole. The heart is visible somewhere between 5/12-7 weeks usually. If they don't see the heart, they'll probably have you come back in a week or so. Don't worry though - it can be completely normal at that point. Crossing my fingers that you see a nice little beating heart!

I'm going in tomorrow afternoon and I'm torn about it. I'll be 5w6d, and I have had betas. I forgot to ask the beta levels, but they said they are doubling as expected. I think they want the ultrasound because of the recent miscarriage, and because I conceived before a normal cycle. I was starting to chart again and got a positive opk, so I'm pretty sure of the dates. Sometimes they'll date it off the miscarriage date and freak out mom's because they say the date is off. We'll see...I really hope we see a heart and that I just have one baby in there. (None of my pants fit except some yoga pants, and I look 4-5 months pregnant in tank tops. grrr!)

Yay! We have good news after the viability scan today. I was dated at 6 weeks, so 1 day further than I estimated. The heart beat was 122 and everything looked good - corpeus luteum, ovaries, etc. Now I can feel like this is real, but I think it'll be a few weeks before I stop feeling uneasy about it.

Hi,

I had not really posted on this thread because I wasn't worried. I have no history of problems, so I figured nothing would go wrong. But I went in for an ultrasound this morning and got bad news. By my last period, I am 6w6d along. By when I think I ovulated, I'm around 5w6d. But on the ultrasound all they could see was a gestational sac measuring 4w1d.

The ultrasound technician who did the scan was ridiculously upbeat and positive. She kept telling me not to worry, it's just too early, the baby is probably developing in there but it's just too small to see, blah, blah, blah. But I didn't believe her. I got my positive pregnancy test more than two weeks ago. If it's only measuring 4w1d now, that is very bad news.

I unfortunately missed the call from the nurse later in the day, but she said my doctor wanted to call in a prescription for me and that I should schedule another ultrasound for next week. She didn't say what the prescription was for. Do you think there's anything it could be other than progesterone supplements? Her message said she would call back in the morning (they have weekend office hours), so I guess I'll know pretty soon. I'm just not really seeing how this could turn out well.

Montessortof - so sorry about your bad news. No thoughts about what the prescription could be, but sending you love...

I am very sorry about the news from your scan, Montessortof.  I don't know what the prescription could be except progesterone.

So it turns out the prescription is totally unrelated to my ultrasound yesterday. One of my previous blood tests came back with elevated thyroid antibodies and so they want to put me on a thyroid medication. It's supposed to reduce the rate of miscarriage, too, so maybe there's a reason to be hopeful now. For this time or next time.

Off to our first ultrasound in about 10 hours. After a sudden loss of symptoms the past few days, I am so nervous I can barely function. But I was a little nauseous over dinner tonight so I'm trying to stay hopeful. But either way we will soon have some clarity.

Cross our fingers and toes that we will soon be seeing a little flicker on the screen!!

Yay!

I'm having similar fears since I haven't been as sick this last week as I was the week before, though I felt pretty sick this morning.  My US is scheduled for Aug 4.

Kyamo, I feel your pain! If you were sick this morning, I wouldn't worry at all. My nausea has gone away completely, for now. But I still had some other telltale signs: swollen breasts, constipation, and other fun stuff. Not the blatantly reassuring symptoms I wanted, but at least there was something. Are you having other symptoms?

I'm peeing more, and my breasts are a bit tender, though no more than they usually are in a normal luteal phase.  The nausea is my main symptom, which is why I was/am worried that I felt so much better this week.  Thanks for reassuring me though.

Yay Biffer, I'm so glad!

Last week I had a scan that showed 5w5d embryo, with a visible heartbeat that was too faint to be measured.  This was measuring 3 days behind my for-sure ovulation date so mot a clearly fantastic result.  I am in a holding pattern until next Wednesday when I go for the second scan and hope to see a solid two weeks of growth.

On the "plus" side, the nausea is definitely worse, so that's reassuring.

We opted for one early US and had ours last night.  I'm 8w today and little bean was measuring 8w 2d, heart rate of 165 bpm.  So wonderful to hear that beautiful sound!!!

Just got back from my prenatal. Doc put my EDD as 3/11/12, but baby is measuring 8w1d. That's 4 days bigger than her estimate, but oh well. smile.gif Too bad my uterus is sitting off to the side, and they were using their portable instead of 3d machine, so the picture wasn't great. I got to see the heart beating away, though. She said they'll check next time I come in as well, especially since I miscarried before. I think they might do a scan when I see the perinatologist on the 16th, and they might be able to hear the heartbeat on doppler then.
