Hi Ladies,

It has been a while since I have been on due to being on vacation with just the kids no hubby. Very fun and busy. I am back. :O)  While I was on vacation at my friends I had two back to back gushes of red blood. No clotting or cramping. I was so upset! I was sure I was m/c'ing because I have had many in the past (usually before 9wks) and bleeding for me means m/c. Anyway, it was Friday and I sure wasn't going to sit at the ER to be poked and etc. So I called all my contacts I could think of and waited until Monday morning to be seen. I couldn't believe my ears when the tech turned on the h/b sound. A fast 162pbm. Plus my oldest was telling me quietly "Mom, I see the head, body & h/b" but of course I didn't buy it....The tech was such a grab too. But the one hour of blood was due to a small section of placenta still trying to dig down in the wall.  This is baby #4 and I have never had this before... Anyone else? If so what steps did you take to help it attach AND did you go back for another scan and when?

Thank you!

Hey mama, DDCC from April.  I was just in the ER on Thursday for the same thing.  Subchorionic hemorrhage in two areas. I was really shocked to be bleeding at 12 weeks, but here I am!  I'm on day three of brown spotting now, but it doesn't seem like there's anything that we did to cause it OR anything we can do to heal it, other than take it easy (per the ER doc and my research).  I definitely didn't have this with my DD either.

Fingers crossed for both of us.  Take it easy for a few days, if you can!

Heya, I was having lots of brown spotting earlier in pregnancy and noticed same type of things. Normally heal on own within 20 weeks. Doc said nothing you can do about it, and based where mine was, next to placenta, it was a little better than elsewhere apparently. Anyway, it sucks because it doesn't always go away which kinda freaks me out but I've just been carrying on and thinking about it much less. It helps that I'm not bleeding etc anymore.
Oh also my doc said there's no point in addition g extra us testing etc because there is nothing they can o about it. So yeah just waiting for 20 week us to check out if it healed!
He also told me that it's the most common reason for bleeding in pregnancy. So yeah, hope that's something!

Hi Ladies

Thank you for sharing as talking with someone who has been through this is so helpful. Sorry you just went thru it! It was very scary for me.

But I was told due to the placenta still connecting Vit E (fortified) helps and I recently spoke to a healthcare professional that there is herbs too but I don't see her until Monday.

Justkate: I am glad to hear you went to brown spotting right after as it seems to have cleaned out. I had that evening of red then nothing until yesterday with that dark black old blood. Almost two weeks later, yuk! I also started back up my protest cream too.

I wasn't having any u/s and now wonder if I should go back later for another. Glad to hear from you both. The Internet wasn't helpful at all. I knew I could count on mothering. innocent.gif

I have had bleeding with three pregnancies including this one.  My midwife recommended Vit. E and bioflavinoids to strengthen placenta and sac.

All mine have turned out fine so far.   So glad you got to see your LO doing well on the u/s.

Hey,  Everything is great with me.  I had several MAJOR bleeding episodes (where blood was literally streaming out of me) between 8 and 12 weeks, with almost non-stop spotting between the major bleeds.  I had two ultrasounds, plus the big anatomy scan at 20 weeks.  Everything looks great.  I am 22 weeks and have not had any more bleeding since 12 weeks.  My baby girl looks very healthy!

Sorry you had another scare!  Hopefully just a sensitive cervix?  Let me know what you find out and thanks for your concern.

madeitX2, so sorry about the spotting.  It is so worrisome, but my guess is that everything is fine in there!  I haven't had any more bleeding after the last episode--18 weeks today.  Baby is kicking around so that's a lot of reassurance.  Keep us posted on how the scan goes.  I'm sure everything will be fine.  hug2.gif

So good to hear from you both. Wow streaming out nonstop that is very scary. Did you have a hemorrhage in there somewhere, 8intulgey?

Thank you, justkate! It is great to hear everything is good with you too.

I am 19 wks today. I was off count a week with moving, opps!

I do feel the baby at night a few times it is great and really helps me connect. Can't wait for more movements.

My scan is set for next Wednesday, yahoo. I am just really excited to see the placenta size and placement. The baby will be an extra bonus because I don't want to know the gender. Just hubby does. And my oldest dd is 11 and says she knows it's a girl, my youngest DS says 3 times now that it is a girl. Either he does know or he only knows girls because he has two older sisters. ;0)

Hope to chat soon.

They never could figure out the cause of the bleeding.  The placenta always looked good as far as they are able to see.  It seemed to be bleeding from somewhere in my uterus and I think it would build up for a period of time, blocked by my cervix, then gush all at once.  There was a lot of clots as well.  It was so terrifying and upsetting.  I felt positive I had lost the baby based off of what I was experiencing, and only went in for that first scan cause I couldn't shake the little hope I had left and felt like I needed confirmation of the loss in order to grieve and move on.  It was such a shock to see a heartbeat.
