Chiromama, that seems to be the question of the hour. DH is suspicious, the neighbor is "certain", and I'm hesitant to accept the possibility...it's not that I wouldn't love twins...I absolutely would (although I'm not sure I could handle it), but it just seems such a slim chance. Measuring 21-22 cm at 16 weeks, but I know that doesn't mean much for a grand multipara, so we continue to watch and see just how big I can get before my skin gives up and I make a horrible mess LOL

Ashley, I'm in the same obese category, but your friends can't be serious, a woman who is even remotely healthy doesn't carry all the weight in her waist. If people can't tell you're pregnant they must be trying to guess based on the size of your arm or the length of your hair...that belly looks all baby to me! Absolutely beautiful :)

Well, in my friend's defense, I was wearing a jacket when she said that. Lifted it up at that comment too. DH says I don't look pregnant yet either, but he also didn't notice when I went from a 34B to a 38E in less than a year (why yes, my boobs are covered in stretch marks). He's more than a little clueless.

I also have a decent sized tummy, largely thanks to having a 10 pounder for my first. The skin simply didn't go back afterwards. I once had some woman insist I must have been 5 months pregnant when I really wasn't. It was rather awkward and funny (I'm happy with my body, so no shame or embarrassment there)

Wow, I think it's amazing and exciting that we all look so different!  This is my first but people who knew at work from week 11 or so thought I was showing then and I was upset because I thought I should be....well now everyone at work knows so I don't mind showing off the bump now.  Here is me on Sunday so 15w6d:

Bottom Right is at 12 weeks exactly.  I know, I'm HUGE and this is baby #3

ZUZU - I feel your pain - I'm a DD, which should in turn make this look smaller but see the bottom right pic, look how small my boobs look!!!! It's CRAZY!

PsycheGal, thank you for making me feel less alone! Nice to know that there are at least two members ready to sign up for the enormous baby belly club when we start it ;)

PsycheGal's Avatar PsycheGal 12:02 PM 10-24-2011

ROFLMAO @  Enormous Baby Belly Club!!!!   Yep, you should hear some of the comments I've gotten with this pregnancy so far -- at least once they find out I'm only 13 weeks LOL

chapluqa's Avatar chapluqa 04:15 PM 10-24-2011

Wow, Psyche Gal, that's impressive!

I have the exact same EDD as you (it's my first baby), and I have been impatiently waiting for a proper bump to appear!  I didn't really take any belly pics until this week, now I wish I would have, just to see the small amount of progress.  I was really unfit before I got pregnant, but over the past month I've been traveling and much more physically active. I think I got more 'toned' all over, so I lost the extra padding I had on my tummy, even as the bump was starting to grow. At least my boobs have gotten huge, I have something to show for the month of queasiness I suffered winky.gif. Here's my first attempt at a bump pic, at 13 w 2 d:

Chapluqa! I definitely see a little bump there!  It's very cute :)  Don't worry about it, soon enough you will be sitting there asking yourself "Where did my feet go?"

I was actually doing that today.  I can't believe that I can no longer see my feet ALREADY.  Glad to have a due date buddy though!!  Better keep me posted on that belly!

Chap! I missed ya! Cute bump. :) (Are we celebrating the completion of your dissertation yet???)

4 weeks to 14 weeks... Doesn't really "look" that different. Definitely pushing out farther, but mostly I think just my boobs have gotten bigger! eyesroll.gif

I can't find any of my old maternity bras either. greensad.gif

Is anybody else not showing at all?  I'm about 16 weeks along and if anything i just look like i've gained about 5 pounds around my midsection with no belly definition, just a bit thicker.  It IS my first pregnancy and I started out fairly slim, at 5'10" and about 140 pounds.  Also most of my height is in my torso, which makes me think that perhaps I may not show for a couple more weeks.  I am really starting to feel impatient though, as id I will basically be in denial until i see some serious belly action.  I love all your little tummies and can't wait to have one of my own!  Anybody else in the same boat?

RosieL's Avatar RosieL 04:12 PM 10-28-2011

I have past the pointy belly stage and now just look heavier rather than pregnant. You've got two inches on me so I'm not surprised. My 5'10" friend whos tarted at a muscular 145# didn't start showing with her TWINS until 22 weeks. Craziness!

CarlyVHT's Avatar CarlyVHT 06:03 PM 10-28-2011

Tarabelle - you sound like me with my first. I am 5'10" and was 140 before my DD. I could sort of see a belly at 14 weeks (but not enough for ANYONE else to notice), and I really didn't show enough for anyone who didn't know to tell until close to 30 weeks or more. My DD was tiny and I had trouble eating so I was a slim pregnant person. My belly started poking out between 14-20 weeks but not enough to look all that pregnant to most people.

This time I am starting out at 5'10 and 150 lbs. My belly is the same shape as last time, maybe poking out a tiny bit more, but you can more clearly see the extra 10 lbs of padding I started with, that's for sure.

WOWEE!  Now that's intense!

Thanks for the updates, you two, I know in a lot of ways it's not unusual to not be showing yet but i definitely was in need of some positive reinforcement.  I keep worrying that the baby isn't growing as it should be or that i've done something wrong in some way.

Carly- I'm actually really surprised that I haven't gained MORE weight because, although i have had some off days, for the most part I have been eating a LOT and because i generally have a healthy and balanced diet I have been really allowing myself to indulge in the treats!  i guess that baby must be growing in there somewhere :) thanks again!

I'm with tarabelle. Nothing to see here, except I'm only at 14+3 (though measured at about a week ahead).

I'm worried, not because I think it's abnormal or things aren't OK, but because even though I've seen that little goober wiggling all around on the u/s screen, it still doesn't seem very real. I still don't feel compelled to start getting ready. Still feels like it would be weird to do things to start prepping for a baby. I was hoping to have a little belly by Christmas so family pictures would at least show some evidence of baby, but at this rate I'm not so sure. :-)

Jessimaca's Avatar Jessimaca 05:53 AM 10-29-2011

Tarabelle~  I'm just like you!  I'm relatively slim and tall and I carry all my extra weight around my belly redface.gif.  Can't really see the baby (I can a little when I'm naked, but no one else would notice).  But my uterus has definitely pushed all my extra weight up!  So, I'm really excited to actually show too!

Thursday Girl's Avatar Thursday Girl 07:26 AM 10-29-2011

with my first (and I am only 5' 5") I wasn't really noticeable until 5 months. I mean I could tell and hubs could tell, but not really anyone else.

here is my bump about 17 1/2 weeks, this shirt really showed it off...and my face is actually in it.

I also haven't done much to get ready at all.  No rearranging in my apartment, only a little thought about names, absolutely no shopping or any prep of any kind.  I just can't seem to process what is happening to me!  Of course it doesn't help that this pregnancy was a surprise! (a pleasant one, but a surprise nonetheless) I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one in this boat.  I was starting to feel guilty!

I'm so glad I have this DDC, it makes everything seem more real!

Thursday Girl's Avatar Thursday Girl 09:10 AM 10-29-2011

I haven't done anything to prepare, there is time I suppose. It'll all fall into place when it needs to.

AF - I love your photo! And I spy a jade plant! I love them too. :) Fingers crossed for Tuesday.

Courtney - You look great! It's funny, that pic looks so different from your avatar pic. Almost like different people. (Probably just the braids.) What do your girls think of the bump?

chapluqa's Avatar chapluqa 04:48 PM 10-29-2011

Tarabelle,  I totally understand how you feel. While I have a very small bump, it doesn't seem to be growing very quickly, and now that I'm in the second trimester, I barely feel pregnant at all!  I've also done absolutely nothing to prepare other than reading some really good books (I highly recommend Ina May's Guide to Childbirth to any pregnant woman!). I haven't bought a thing for the baby yet. I think it's still sinking in that come end of April/early May I will actually be having a baby!  I also agree that things will fall into place. I plan to get as much as possible second hand anyway and there is no shortage of that here in Tasmania (high birthrate in Australia at the moment, and especially in Tassie).

I also haven't had any ultrasounds so there's also a feeling of uncertainty that there actually is a baby growing in there. I was able to locate my fundus the other day (I think), either that or there's a random firm ball in my tummy that wasn't there before.

Loving everyone's bump pics!   When mine gets a bit bigger, I'll post another one.

Adorable photo! Do you get professional shots each year, or have a friend? I really like that shot. :) (Oh, and very nice bump as well.)

we have a friend take the pics with my husbands D90.  in utah, we have the awesome backdrop naturaly. ;)

Vivica- I agree, great picture!

Thursday- nice bump too!  It is fun to see what people actually look like in their surroundings. I always cut my head off bc I only seem to take belly shots when I have just rolled out of bed and haven't had a shower in a couple of days lol.

Rosie- I think I went back and found your picture, last one 15 weeks?  It is cute, definitely can see the baby growing!

Well, looks like I am showing now.  A friend at church patted my stomach and exclaimed "oh you are showing already!"  Baby went through a growth spurt just this past week. I feel poochier but can still wear my normal pants which is very different from when I was pg with DS. Starting to look for some looser shirts.... will post another pic when I get to 17 weeks this Tuesday!

What great pics!

And I love the shirt, Thomatuttle--if it's new, do you mind me asking where you got it?  I'm having a heck of a time finding clothes I like and what I saved from last time seems WAY too short.

I gotta get on the ball and take a pic (not really showing yet though I can tell there's been a little change--but if I don't suck in my normal tummy I look WAY more pregnant--maybe I should just go for it!)
