EDIT: just got back from the ER- the baby is FINE. they said my placenta is over my cervix and that is probably where the bleed is? very very strange but very happpy to see the ultrasound!

thanks for all your support- so happy to still be here!

I just got back from swimming. I am standing in the kitchen making lunch and a big gush of bloody water runs down my legs.

I am almost 11 weeks now. I had a loss at 8.5 in may. My daughter is so excited im pregnant, its going to break my heart to tell her. Its going to break my heart to tell DH when he gets home.

I feel like such a failure. Thats it I am done.

I am so sorry. You are not a failure, your body knows what it is doing. While that doesn't make losses any easier, they are not your fault when they happen.

First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. Second of all, you aren't a failure! The fact that anyone can carry a healthy babe full term is a miracle! Your daughter will understand and will not blame you. Kids are incredibly perceptive and beautiful in times of loss. Heal quickly and I'm sure that a healthy baby is in your future! Don't give up!

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. You are most definately not a failure. Have faith in the perfect timing. My prayers are with you and yours.

Children are incredibly perceptive as Sally said and your daughter might know that something is up even before you tell her. Children are gentle people full of love. Let her comfort you.

Are you okay with waiting to tell your DH? Would he be able to come home early?

Hugs.

Itsybisty, I had a very similar experience at 10 weeks (this is my third pregnancy-two early losses).  There was so much blood that I knew I had to be miscarrying, but a trip to the ER showed the baby was fine but I had a subchorionic hematoma (a blood clot in the uterus adjacent to the sac).  Is an ER visit possible for you-So that you can have an ultrasound and know either way??  I don't want to give you false hope, but I'd hate for you to spend all weekend thinking the worst when there may be hope.

So glad to hear the baby is okay! What recommendations were you given? Bedrest for awhile? Just thinking ahead, but I hope you know how common it is that the placenta is brought away from the cervix as the uterus expands. This is probably a very temporary concern and I hope that's the case for you and your little one.

I am glad you are still here and that baby looks fine!  My sister had a bleed at 20 weeks that was the placenta partially over the cervix.  She had a couple more times of spotting that was her placenta moving at various times in the pregnancy.  She ended up being able to have a completely natural vag birth at the hospital because the placenta moved away from the cervix enough.  All of that is to just be encouraging that a lot happens in 40 weeks and that yay, I am glad everyone is healthy!

Wow!  So, so, so happy for you!  Hopefully that placenta will move a bit so you don't have to go through this scare again.
