I'm due on April 5th with my first child. Both my hubby and I are very excited starting this new journey in our lives and both of us are trying to take a pro-active and informed role. For us this means focusing on great nutrition, yoga, relaxation, kindess and not buying into the whole 'commercialism' that apparently seems to endoctrinate babies before they ever leave the womb! The latter part of our interests have already gotten me booted off the first message board I tried... I never knew that I could peeve off an entire group of women in just under a few sentances.. Go figure!
Anyway, I'm here hoping to share experiences and lifestyle tips I know we all have to offer. I'm quite harmless really, and despite wanting to have a full birth experience, and being a goofy, sarcastic, opinionated woman in general, am really non judgmental!
I hope my personality will be an accepted one here because I really am looking forward to sharing all these crazy new mommy-feelings! (Like I can feel my boy practicing his pole-vaulting skills as I type!)
Welcome! Where was that message board, I'm curious. I don't dare go near the more mainstream pregnancy and parenting sites anymore. Learned that lesson long, long ago!

Yeah I learned my lesson in under 6 posts! It was JustMommies forum I think.. I think I'm already at ease on this board! I was hoping not all groups of mamas were THAT assuming and defensive online..
Just don't say you are going to circumcise your son because a little pain will make him more of a man

Welcome and congratulations. I'm a First-timer club member too. :)
What?!?!!?!?! You mean it won't make him more manly? Sheesh and I always thought that the pain was a rite of passage for newborn to man! I heard once that their growth will be stunted and he'll turn into a midget if they aren't circumcised.. That's why I'm doing it!
Thank's for the welcome!
Well crap! I just realized their IS a big heated thing about circumcisian from long before I got here.. Hopefully I didn't turn people off to me right away.... AGAIN.
BTW, I tried a differnent area on those other boards and offended yet another gaggle of women.... I swear..... I don't have nearly this much trouble with people face to face. Most people really enjoy my company *GaSp!
Ugh,, I have to stop myself there because I feel a huge hormonally charged rant coming on!
Hey SpiderMonkey, I was just teasing, and you gave the perfect response! I admit I wrote something slightly obnoxious because I hoped you would "get it". You see, I am often the one who is like while those around me go
Not as bad as I used to be, I've mostly learned to keep my mouth shut, sort of.
Anyway, this is a good eclectic but friendly group and that whole blow up was a dumb thing that happened because of other people.
