Hi everyone,

It's been 11 weeks now since my daughter was born, and I still have back pain from my c-section.  I not only had the procedure done, but fell ill with a spinal headache (I wouldn't wish that on anyone!) and went through a blood patch procedure in the same location (which didn't work, but that's another story).  My back felt bruised when I left the hospital, which I figured would be normal.  The kicker is that 11 weeks later it feels exactly the same way - bruised and sore.  I've had 2 follow ups with the OB and was told this was normal.  My motion range is somewhat limited - if I move in a certain way I'll feel a hitch, and I've noticed that it's not very flexible so I've picked up on pilates which has helped some.

Has anyone else had this experience?  Thanks for your help! :)

I didn't have that with my 6 yea old (I had a spinal block) some back pain is normal, but what your describing is most definitly NOT! I would get a second opinion. Hope you feel better soon!

I had back pain in that every time I laid down my back tightened and hurt.  This happened for about 6 months.  I was also told this is very normal.

I did not have any other pain though - I could bend and move as I wanted.  It didn't affect me unless I went to lay down.

I have had two c sections, my sixth and seventh babies, and did not have any back pain after either. I did have back pain for a long time following the vaginal birth of my first kiddo, but I had an epidural during that L&D.
