After 2 hospital births and 2 unassisted births my 5th decided to go breach and at 10 cm dialated wouldn't turn. I had an emergency C/s and 2 years later I cannot do a sit up. Just a simple crunch sends my muscles into painful spasams. And my periods are horrendous... if I work out during my period it gets worse. Is this unusual? if not, it's crap!

I think your post might have been missed so I am giving it a gentle bump!

I wonder if seeing a physical therapist would get to the root of the muscular issues? In some states you can have direct access to a PT without a physician.

It sounds unusual to me. I've had three c-sections and I don't have either issue. I do have an area in my upper abdomen where I get a weird muscle cramp if I move a certain way and that started during my second pregnancy but I deal with it the same way I would a charlie horse in my leg. It doesn't prevent me from doing abdominal exercises or anything like that. I would definitely suggest mentioning it to your doctor or midwife and perusing physical therapy as well. Sometimes well qualified Pilates instructors are very knowledgable and able to help address certain abdominal issues.
