Worried about lead

Hello,
I'm not sure if this is something you can help me with, but I live in a part of the world where I can eat game birds (pheasant, woodcock etc) about twice a week for at least 5 months of the year. Lead shot gun bullets are used to kill the birds. Only these bullets are available in this country. So I've been wondering if I have been exposing myself, but more importantly my son who has been breastfed for 2.5yrs now, to lead which may be leaching from any shot into the casseroles that the birds are usually cooked in for about 2-3 hours? I'm also wondering which is the most reliable way to test for lead in my or my son's body. The last time we ate game meat was 4 months ago but during the autumn it becomes our families norm again.
