Ok, not sure if there is a correlation or not but my almost 12 month old is a bit under the weather. By that I mean he has a super stuffy nose, slight cough, sneezing, greenish diareah (tmi - sorry) - he does eat a lot of peas and green beans, his eyes were super crusty with yellowish goop the last few mornings and he also has a rash on his face that has faded in the last couple days. This all started the day we went to my in-laws for Christmas last Thursday. They have 2 little dashounds that are sweet but we try and keep them away from our little man as he is not used to pets. Well, my mother in-law couldn't leave them in the other room any longer and let them out and they stayed on her lap as she sat on the couch for the most part - that was until lil man wanted to 'share' his new toy with her and got tackled by the dogs and licked all over one side of his face. The whole time mil saying she can't do anything and that it's good for him to get to play with the dogs. We left shortly after, less than an hour later his face starts getting a rash ( I did wash it immediately). The next day it was much worse, after I treated it with breastmilk and kept it clean it began clearing up and took on the look of a bad acne breakout. By day 2 the rash was much better, but the mucusy stuff that started on friday was still haning around. Did another Chistmas on Saturday and a relative gave him half of a sugar cookie from the store. We have avoided giving him any refined sugar at all as off yet - I was not happy - needless to say he would not settle that night til almost midnight - he was bouncing off the walls so to speak, but was super tired at the same time, not a fun night. Sunday morning is when the eyes were super crusty for the first time ever (washed with a warm washcloth), throught the day the stuffy nose, cough and sneezing got progrssivle worse - not horrible, but not great either. He has been sleeping a ton the last couple days and wating to nurse non-stop practically. So is this just a bit of a cold? Is he possible allergic to dogs? A combination of both? An advice is greatly appreciated. Oh and he is not running a fever.
