My 13 month old has been burning up with a 101- almost 102 fever at night since Saturday. It's accompanied with a rattling phlegmy cough wakes her up at night.she's been sleeping extra during the day but by the afternoon is pretty happy, playing and smiling, running around. And then we go to sleep and she's miserable all night. I've been putting garlic on bottoms of feet and it temporarily reduces the fever. I'm wondering if this is a cold/flu or something more serious, and should I take her to the doctor? I didn't know a fever could go on like this? Any tips, also for helping the mucus and cough? Steamy bath?

Sounds like a cold.  I had one a couple of months ago that was like that - I'd be fine during the day but by bedtime I was miserable.  Elderberry and extra vitamin C helped us, along with a cool mist humidifier.  Try taking her into the shower with you to loosen up the mucus.
