Baby screams when given a cold teether. Any other options before turning to Tylenol or baby oragel? What has worked for you?

I hate teething!! The first ones seem like the hardest for the baby to cope with. Honestly, nursing more, cuddles, distractions. My first would hystarically scream dh could distract her by building towers and knocking them over other time I just held her close while she cried. Once they are doing solids get the mesh things you can put food in and let them nar on that. Good luck.

I second the Hylands!     Also, mine have never liked traditional teethers. They have gone for rubber anything (pacifiers, bulb syringes, spatulas), damp washcloths, metal (spoons and such), wooden toys and leather at various times, but best of all is a finger!  :wink

Good luck mama!  Teething is hard, but we've all made it through right?  The teeth will come, and you will sleep again!

Teething is so hard! Amber necklaces are amazing! Hazelaid.com is very affordable. I didn't learn about them until I had my second baby, and really wish I did with my first. The Hylands tablets are great too, tho. I couldn't imagine teething without them!

I think teething is a tough task. I will suggest you to try Hylands teething tablets. I hope you will find it useful.

There are many great natural teething remedies out there.  These have all worked best for me.  We have a Baltic amber teething necklace, which seems to prevent really bad teething in the first place.  Before we bought a necklace, I have used Camilia by Boiron which works wonders!!! Clove teething oil is also excellent! I used Herbs 4 Kids gumomile teething oil. It works kind of like orajel.   Boiron and Hylands also make homeopathic medicines that can also help with teething, aconite nappellus 30c is a great remedy for teething and fevers also.

The Hyland's saved my life! Also same as above freeze washcloths, soft toys, etc. to chew on. I haven't tried the amber necklaces for teething but have heard good things about them.

Michelle mom to DD , DS , & lil DD plus and spending my days
