Baby arching since birth

Hello my almost 3 months old baby is arching since birth (not BF related - he always had a strong back). We're doing PT to recover.

Anyone else had experience with this kind of behavior?

Arching?

Like a whale breeching, diving backwards?

My oldest used to do that. Not sure why, but is a healthy adult today. My oldest was breastfed, never vaxed, born on time, low weight gain, developed quickly, crawled at four months and walked at eight months.

Hi applejuice,

Yes, more or less like that... very few times that extreme but yeah in that way.

My son does it most of the time when is held and active. If he's in a sleepy state he will mold to my hand. Or he does it when i try to sit him on the side (he doesn't like it, he arches back to a horizontal position). He does it much less while laying down, most of the time when he's throwing his legs around stiffly. When held upwards, from his underarms, his posture is straight.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Did your son do it as often? Or is what I'm describing in any way familiar.

My 6 month old dd does this. She usually does it when she's not happy about something or frustrated etc.
