We started the potty learning process a little over a month ago. DD is just about 2 1/2. Pee isn't really an issue as long as we take her frequently. She can hold it for long periods of time and pees on the potty no issue at all. But, when it comes to poop she rarely makes it to the potty. She will tell us after she poops. Everytime. I can count on one hand how many times she has pooped on the potty and those were all times she was farting and I caught her before she pooped in her panties. I've tried every pep talk in the book and she just doesn't seem to care? I'm at my wits end. I don't know what else to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Wife to an army guy. Mom to a sweet and fiesty 2 year old girl. Expecting dd2 in early September. joy.gif

I would just keep encouraging her( without shaming) and be matter of fact" remember we make poo in our undies, let's try for that next time" it is also, possible that she thinks she is making a fart when it is in fact poo. Unlearning a behavior is hard and she was in diapers for 2 years and never had to pay attention to what action was occurring down there. And lastly, maybe she is going through another developmental milestone and potty training is a bit on hold until what she is learning is learned.
Hugs to you I know it is frustrating .
