Hold on Mommy 68 - im in the same boat you are...(I also have a 19 yr old and a 16 yr old ) ...and THEY trained by 3! My youngest is 4 and has never - not once - gone in the potty, or toilet. He is a huge kid for his age (41 lbs at 18 months, nearly 80 lbs right now) - so i started training him early -(16 months) he started to just hold it in - allllll day - so i thought that wasnt good and stopped - then started again just after he turned 2 - this time he just whizzed on the floor and pooped his pants ...after 3 months of taking him to the toilet 6 times a day -and him NEVER going - i was pulling my hair out and just stopped....
tried again after he turned three - this time around he is too big for potty's - and has little patience for standing in front of - or sitting on the toilet....now at 4 he started Pre K - wearing a pair of supersoaker underpants - just in case- he holds it for three hours during school - and then gets a diaper when he comes home....if i dont give him a diaper - and just take him to teh potty every 10 minutes - he will pee on the floor ....
now that he has such excellent control - im feeling like he will never train.....
so whats your 4 yr old doing?
