FIN #10-IA

If you have an item for this FIN, please contact Queen of the Meadow.

What is your family situation? From Jan. to April, we lived in Iowa. I could not find a job so we moved to WA state in April. My DH brother lives there and said we could stay with his family. I got a job before we moved. I sold everything we had and went up there but upon arrival, the job was given to someone else and DH brother said he had no room. We ended up spending every penny staying at a hotel for the next month. Ran into a friend that said we could stay with her but that lasted 2 weeks before we were told to leave at 10:30 at night. We slept in the Wal-Mart parking lot for 2 nights. My DH ended up in the hospital for 2weeks. DH brother managed to get us a place at his stepdaughters house. We stayed there for 2 months. But it was chaos. All the food we bought was eaten by stepdaughters boyfriend and his friends, all which were in a gang. There was a lot of partying and crime. It was an overall bad situation. I continued to look for work but found nothing. DH is disabled due to a semi accident a few years ago. She eventually kicked us out. We moved across the street to some friends we made. They had 2 dogs that they never let outside so their home smelled like ammonia. it was loud. Lots of parties. Bad environment. We managed to pawn some items that we brought with us so we could come back to Iowa. Our friend that moved with us, stole all the money I had saved and disappeared. Got a loan from a friend to come back to Iowa. We are now staying with DH best friend until we can get situated again. It has been a very hard and stressful year. My 4 year old asked me if we could have a home for Christmas. That makes me so sad.
