I've been meaning to post but keep getting half done before needing to go nurse! Baby is 2 weeks old today. She was born at home next to our bed after a very long and hard labor that I am very proud to have made it through. Her heart tones dropped and we packed to transport, but I reached inside and felt the edge of her head, and decided I was just going to push her out as fast as I could even without a full urge to push yet. She came out pink and screaming about 15 minutes later.
She has been so wonderful, though the postpartum has been tougher than I thought it would be. So glad I've given myself permission to rest naked in bed as long as she and I need to before we start "normal" life again, whatever that will look like!. We have had nursing issues, and discovered a tongue and lip tie after 10 days of excruciating pain and worsening nipple damage, so we had her tongue and lip clipped yesterday. It was hard and sad but she seems fine today and nursing is already going better.

Celosia - We pronounce it "suh-low-sea-uh." Means "aflame" in Greek represents the fiesty firey child that told me she was coming before I was pregnant (both in dreams and in a tarot card drawn in the early fall).
Pearl - Pearl represents rare purity and beauty as well as the astrological "water" aspects that will guide Celosia through her life. Margo means pearl in French too and she did come out of me after all.
Blackstone - Our family's chosen last name. Black symbolizing autonomy and liberation; stone representing the earth which is all of our mothers.
