I feel this way- same due date. But, I am better at speaking from another perspective to say that you really, really should just try to take some good naps, eat lots of food (especially if baby has dropped and you are feeling THAT relief), and do something (anything) for yourself! I'm pregnant with baby #4
, although we are a house with 6 children already. I'm a super busy mom who should be very patient to wait for the arrival of our babe, but also feel quite impatient.
From my own experience, I'll say that dilating and effacing before your labor really gets going, is a HUGE blessing! With my first, I was dilated 7cm and didn't know I was in labor! That was awesome, until my midwife broke my water. I didn't know any better. Well, I knew something. I had made the decision at 20 years old to have a water birth with a midwife- so that was a good start. But, I wasn't experienced, and as well-read as I am today. I pushed for four exhausting hours. I truly believe that my body, though dilated to 7cm, was still not ready. Baby, wasn't ready to come yet, either.
So, hopefully, you can relax and trust that your miracle of a body and baby ARE doing they're work, settling down low, and opening up. When it's time, you will be starting from a point of already being somewhat open. You won't exhaust yourself trying to progress when your body wasn't ready yet. Many blessings to you for a beautiful birth!
