lets talk numbers...weight gain

I know everyone has set backs over indulgence. With Ds 17lbs total 8lbs baby. 22weeks and 0 weight gain. Nobody concerned yet. Wonder when I get lectured, I always have food in hand. Hows everyone else doing

Like marilyn612, I was much bigger with my DD at this point (around 20lb gain). I am currenlty 21 weeks and at about a 6 lb gain. I don't really have much cravings and just eat when I am hungry. Completly different mindset than with my DD. I am also a LOT more active now then when I was pg with DD.

I am not sure if your doctor will lecture you or not. If you are measuring on track and baby is growning, they are getting what they need, right?

20 weeks here and up 6 pounds.
This is my ONLY pregnancy where I haven't gained close to a pound a week. Maybe I can actually gain under 40 pounds for once lol

21 weeks pg with my 6th
pre preg weight with empty belly was on average 127 (133 Sept/Oct of last year before pg..but exercised and started a healthy diet).....at beginning of pg got down to 123 (as diet continued but exercising stopped)....now with full belly I am at 129....last time I checked I was at about 127 on an empty belly but that was a couple of weeks ago, so that might be slightly off
I am a very petite person (aka short...lol) and haven't been known to have huge *cough* "assets" ...not even during pg or nursing. lol...so most of my weight gain is baby (and surroundings), extra blood, in the past a handful of lbs....hopefully with this one I can keep it managed better than my last 3 pgs....I had just gotten the last baby weight off (only 2 more to go..sigh) when I realized I was pg again..lol.

I am getting huge. I didn't weigh myself at the outset, and know I gained at least a few pounds at the beginning. I also started this pregnancy close to my final weight with my DS 10+years ago. When I first weighed myself at the beginning of April, I was 159, so I might assume I started around 150. Now, at week 23, I am 167, and up to 5 of that in the last month (there is a 2.5 lb. discrepancy between what I wrote down and what the nurse apparently recorded for my last visit). My body hurts, so I am a bit daunted by how much more I may gain.

Mom, , to DS(10), , , due November 3, 2014, and 4 's: 4/01, 7/01, 9/01, and 12/13. DP to .

Wow! Do I feel like a cow! I'll be 22 weeks on Friday and have gained 14 lbs. Started at 136 and have been eating healthy and continuing workouts, boot camp 3x week and cardio 2 other days, so I still feel good. Plan to continue working out throughout pregnancy, just not outside as it will hit 100 this weekend here in balmy Austin, TX. However, my bump definitely appeared this week, so maybe that's part of it. Dr wasn't concerned last visit, said it was good and baby girl is doing well. I also had been eating mostly paleo before getting pregnant and in the first trimester the only thing that didn't completely turn me off was carbs like cereal, but thankfully salads are starting to appeal to me again

I started at 155 (which is about 5 lbs heavier than I like to be/usually am) and quickly lost 10lbs due to being so sick. At 20 weeks I was back to 157. I'm eating a lot these days.

Sarah, I am sure a lot of your gain is muscle! It sounds like you really get a move on!

I'm 22 weeks today and have gained 10 pounds, which is about 10% of my normal weight, so I'm starting to feel it! I can't move around as easily and gracefully as I used to. My midwife has asked my weight at each appointment to record it, but isn't concerned with amount of weight gain one way or the other, just how my uterus is measuring, and that's been right on. I've always struggled to keep my weight up, so gaining weight is sort of a cool thing to me, lol.

Sarah - I'm right there with you - 13lbs at 21 weeks, and I Iost muscle (but not weight) due to first trimester fatigue! I think we're still on the "healthy" scale.

(Dh also has declared our sexlife on hiatus, which was a bit of a blow to my esteem, even though it's because my libido is gone & it was physically uncomfortable for me. )

I've gained 18 pounds and I am 23 weeks along. I was hoping for a max gain of 30 lbs. but that looks near-impossible now!

According to the scale at the OB's office today, I'm up 1.5 lbs.

I lose weight while I'm pg and gain while I nurse. I know, weird.

At my last appt two weeks ago, I was up 11 pounds, which is less than I gained at that point with DD. You know, for those of you worried about your weight gain, I'd say don't. I gained over 45 pounds with my daughter, and by the time she was five months old, I was below my ideal weight. My body needed that extra weight to support breastfeeding in the beginning.

I have to say that this time around I have gained much less than with my first. I am not exaggerating when I type that I gained a steady ten pounds each month up until the final month of my pregnancy. Eighty pounds! So I would have been 30 pounds heavier right now if I gained the same way this time. Grateful for appropriate weight gain!

I'm 17 weeks and have gained about 7. Im breastfeeding too. I gained about 5 lbs in the first trimester and only 2 lbs so far after that. So it's been less than 1 lb a week in the second trimester( which they say about 1 lb per week in the second and third trimester)
So I'm pretty happy I'm not rapidly gaining and staying on track. Honestly I probably don't eat enough since I'm breastfeeding too. I know I need to drink more water!!
I gained 40 with my first and 35 with my second. They were both big babies though too. 8 lbs 15 oz and 9.6 lbs so I walked out of the hospital like 20 lbs down.

I was overweight pre-pregnancy. I feel like my weight is just moving around because my 'weight gain' isn't that much, (6-8 lbs) but I feel huge. I also definitely can't get around as easy, and I'm more clumsy.

Oh man, I feel like a cow! LOL
I'm 24 weeks and I'm up about 15 pounds, but it's been there for about a month! At least it's kind of plateaued for the time being.

My first pregnancy I think I gained about 40 pounds, my second about 30--but I started out with an extra ten pounds so my delivery weight was the same. Hoping to keep it 30 or under this time, but it's also hard when you go past the due date. I swear with my first I gained an extra five pounds in the last week!

I was over-weight pre-pregnancy as well. I'm 22 weeks now and down 11 pounds. I had gone down 15 pounds total but have finally gone back up a few. I'm one of the not so lucky ones that get very sick so losing weight is common for me. They are happy that I have stopped going down now.

I'm sitting in the same place (with an increased BMI of 36). I lost about 30lb in the first 16 weeks (not quite hyperemesis gravidarum, but not pleasant).

OB wants me to gain slowly..obstetric physician would prefer me not to. I am mostly focussed on the 6 meals a day I have become accustomed to.

Oh wow... 23 weeks (measuring at 24 weeks) and I've gained a little less than 15 lbs already. With my first I only gained 20 or so lbs altogether. I feel huge.

Yeah, I gained another 5 pounds since my last post, yikes! (20lbs total at 26 weeks) I really need to start doing some exercise, not just for weight management (I'm not too worried) but because my hips are killing me! My joints are already a little loose but with the relaxin *plus* the extra weight I've been pretty miserable lately just doing simple tasks around the house (like sweeping, mopping and vacuuming).

Oh, yeah, my hips too are absolutely killing me. But I have been doing some simple squats (two sets of ten) a few times a day and standing pushups (two sets of ten) on the back of the couch or counter a few times a day and my rapid weight gain has come to a standstill over the past month; and my hips are feeling a bit better. My arms and thighs were getting pretty dang chubby. I'm not worried about not gaining because I feel like I had gained a bit too much, so the baby is probably gaining I just don't need to at the moment. 25 weeks today and up 16 lbs, but tonight it will be 17 or 18... I always weigh a couple lbs. more at night.
