Baby's gender (hopes/guesses): Trust mother Nature!

Age: 35
Due Date: Middle February (unsure)
Location: Indiana
How long it took you to get your BFP: 2 cycles, 18 dpo, 3 days before missed period
What number child this is for you: #3
Family: I am happily married and we have 2 little girls ages 3 and 4
Baby's gender: The whole purpose of trying a third time was to give DH the son he's always wanted (He had no borthers and was raised by a single mother with absent father so he's always yearned for a relationship like this). For him I want a boy...for me, I want another girl. We'll both be excited and embrace either gender.
Birth plans/preferences: Planning to birth in the hospital, drug-free with my trusted family doctor by my side as I did with my other kids. Will be using Hypno-babies and binaural beats as support.

I suffered with Hyperemesis Gravidarum in my previous pregnancies. It has changed my life and set me back quite a bit emotionally and physically. I am still recovering and nervous about how this will go. But, I'm also relieved to think that this will be the last time and I can fully focus on my recovery once I have this child and finish nursing. (So...several years from now! Ha! But at least it's within sight.) If any of you have gone through it or are going through it now, please let me know if you need any support.

I just got my BFP this afternoon! Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Name: Susie

Age: 29

Due Date: Feb 25 (unofficial but I'm very sure of my dates) so might actually be a march baby!

Location: Texas

How long it took you to get your BFP: all together, a year and a half. We tried for eight months, had two back to back losses, then took some time off and this was our second cycle after starting again.

What number child this is for you: second, DS is 3.5

Family (spouse, other children, pets, etc.): husband, DS (3.5)

Baby's gender (hopes/guesses): we only BD'ed once in my fertile period, 48 hours before ovulation (DH was traveling), and I'm told that raises my chances for a girl? But no intuition yet. I was right about DS.

Birth plans/preferences: At home. It will be with different midwives bc we live in a different town now. I know from experience now that I'll want as few people around me as possible! Not sure about DS being there yet. He'll be over four by then. Hoping to have someone "on duty" with him so he can either stay if he wants or leave if he wants.

How long it took you to get your BFP: not long
What number child this is for you: 4th
Family (spouse, other children, pets, etc.): Husband, 12 year old boy, 8 year old girl, 3 year old boy, and 2 cats.
Baby's gender: hoping for another girl
Birth plans/preferences: delayed cord clamping, no vaccines, no vitamin k or eye drops, but still need to research the last two to determine why they even do those anyway, also hoping to avoid epidural this time since the last time went so much faster than the first two, but will be in a hospital as home birth is illegal for all practitioners in Nebraska and there is no midwife center close to us.

This one was a surprise that I was not planning nor expecting. I recently quit my job because it was stressful and I just had no work/life balance at all. So come to find out I conceived on or around my last day of work. I was looking forward to being home with my kids full time for a couple of years before going back to school, but I guess God has different plans for us. I am so sick and tired that I feel pretty useless, but at the same time I'm getting older and care less whether the house is clean. So it all works itself out, I guess.

Like Christelle and Traceyamber, I am representing the 40+ crowd. I am 44 and expect number 3, which would also be a rainbow baby. Like happyday8598, I am doing this one under different circumstances . . . with a DBF rather than a DH. Since I bat .500 in this area of my life, this one should stick. I have had a loss after each birth.

We got lucky on our 4th try, I believe. Kinda thought it would take longer!

I live in Chicago. My kids will be very excited should this one stick.

Very excited to be here. EDD is 2/28. But, my cycles are short, so, I will likely go early as with my first 2. I birthed both of them at home, but am open to a hospital or birthing center for this one, but I'd still prefer no meds for me.

Very happy to be here and hoping to stay!

Just to let you know... Having a baby in tricare standard is almost free. I think I have heard you just pay for food at the hospital. I do believe they will pay for a CNM. I know I saw one on base in JAX

@sarahknavy tricare standard actually covers the CNM I want but not tricare prime so I'm going to have to go talk to them soon. Thanks for that info!

Hey All!!! I ended up falling asleep last night at 7:45! So, I did this today instead! It is all updated to here. Check for mistakes and correct me if needed, please!

Also...What's up with all the Valentine's Day due dates??? There was some major ovulation going on on May 24th!

Hi, I'm Jen - very cautiously peeking in. I'm expecting child #3 after 3 losses in the past year. (I also had one loss before my DD and one before my DS.) I'm due 2/12 and we saw the heartbeat yesterday, so taking a deep breath and hoping all will go ok. I'm 40 (almost 41) and happy to see some other mamas in here with similar ages.

Name: murrelet

Age: 34 (will be 35 next week!)

Due Date: Feb 20th

Location: Canada's West Coast

How long it took you to get your BFP: about 3 months of not really trying properly. The first month we actually worked to get the timing right, we got a BFP.

What number child this is for you: 3
Family (spouse, other children, pets, etc.): There's me and DH (39), DD1 (5 almost 6), DD2 (4), 1 very snuggly cat and two chickens.

Baby's gender (hopes/guesses): Either would be grand! I can totally get behind the idea of 3 girls, but it would also be fun to try parenting a boy.

Birth plans/preferences: The last 2 were homebirths, so that's my preference. I always like to say that we'll try for a homebirth because you never actually know what might happen. We live 5 minutes from the hospital so a transfer would be relatively straightforward I think.

Anything else you would like to share: This is the first time I've joined a DDC, and I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you!

Breastfeeding, cosleeping, homebirthing scientist mama to DD1 07/08, DD2 06/10 and a third on the way 02/15!

Aw, man, my wedding anniversary is May 24th! I can't believe I never did the math before. Odds are this is the last baby I'll carry, so now I'll forever be bummed out that I didn't get to do an anniversary-conceived baby with a Valentine's Day due date.

Hello new friends! I'm adding another Sarah to the group

Name: Sarah
Age: 34 (turning 35 in July too!)
Due Date(Actual date, "beginning," "middle," or "end" of February if you prefer): Feb 27 (my husband's b-day)
Location: Chester County, PA
How long it took you to get your BFP: 2 cycles
What number child this is for you: 3
Family (spouse, other children, pets, etc.): It is me, my husband, and our two sons (4.5 and 2)
Baby's gender (hopes/guesses): No hopes or guesses - part of my I guess would love to see what raising a girl would be like but part of me would feel so surprised as I am now used to my boys
Birth plans/preferences: Hospital birth with a doula - both previous pregnancies were vaginal so hoping that remains the case
Blog/website/etc: Nope - I am boring!
Anything else you would like to share: I am still good friends with my Mothering March 2012 group - we actually have a fb group and we're really active still (about 5-10 posts a day, helping each other through divorce and miscarriage as well as celebrating new pregnancies, adoption and milestones). I feel so lucky that I had that group during my pregnancy so I am excited to be a part of this group now as it is amazing to have so much support!
