Many of us at at or nearing our 2nd trimester... How are you feeling? Noticing growth? Lessening of symptoms? Increasing energy?
I'm feeling well physically, but still get pretty tired. I'm mentally settling into the stickiness of this little sprout, and am enjoying feeling my body changing. While she's still not visible yet, I can feel my uterus moving up, and growing wider. Sometimes I think I can feel little flutter movements. I've been having my husband feel my uterus every morning, but he hadn't felt it. Guess when you feel it from the inside and the outside, it's more obvious... however yesterday morning I woke up and there was an obvious protrusion on the left side of my stomach. It felt hard, and as though something were pushing outward from inside. He noticed! Right away, without my having to prompt him... and so it begins. In the mornings he feels a bit more connected to the pregnancy.
Here's hoping we're all progressing into our second trimester with confidence and enjoyment!! 1 down, 2 to go!

12 weeks yesterday. Still feeling nauseous, though nothing has come up in a few days. Still tired and taking naps. The bad smells have lessened, so that's nice. But really looking forward to the nausea and food aversion thing being gone. I've been buying my own groceries separate from the family and there's no guarantee that what I picked at the store I will actually be able to stomach within the week. Really looking forward to that true second trimester feeling.
12 weeks is here. I am still having morning sickness. Yesterday did seem better though. I have been having major blood sugar crashes causing me to be sick though. I also have to take my time getting up in the mornings. Good thing I don't work a regular day time job. I am hoping the sickness goes away soon. I am finding a little more energy though.
I feel the energy kicking back in. Still get sick if I don't eat immediately after getting up. But not sick later in the day. I'm a little less starving all day long and that's awesome. no movement yet. Can't wait for that! I think once I have my next appt I will feel a lot more confident going between appts without being a little nervous. I think I can feel my uterus pretty high. I don't know how well I'm showing since I was a little pudgy/bloated to start off.
Twelve weeks today! My food aversions and cravings are still strong, but I'm far less nauseated. I even did the dishes today without gagging! I'm very lucky to be working at a birth center with midwives who let their students practice their Doppler skills frequently, if you catch my drift. It's helped with my anxiety quite a bit to be able to hear this bean weekly.
I definitely have days where I swear I'm feeling flutters, and have for a couple of weeks, actually. It's still quite possibly gas; there's plenty of that in there as well.
I'm only 11 weeks tomorrow, so I still have 2-3 more weeks to go (depending on when you define "2nd trimester"). Definitely have growth though! I've noticed my fundus moving up quite a bit in the last week - about 3 finger widths during that time. So exciting! I also have felt movement twice, I think. I tend to feel movement early, and this is kid #4 . From the outside, it takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R to feel movement. My poor DH has to wait a long time due to the fluff.
My queasies have been worse this week, starting last Sunday. I now keep peppermints in my purse, plus a protein granola bar. I'm really looking forward to the 2nd trimester! I need my energy back.
On a good note, I'm still able to roll over in bed without pulling a round ligament! That part I do NOT look forward to in the 2nd trimester.
Pushing 14 weeks and doing better overall. Still some nausea in the morning and at night when I go to bed (and sometimes during the night). Energy is slowly coming back I think. Like Valerie, I am looking forward to that true second trimester feeling.
Potpie, I love it when you post. I automatically think, "she's awesome-- her user name is my favorite food."
I feel movement, and it was confirmed at my appointment. My midwife said it is common to feel movement earlier with each pregnancy. My fatigue is improving, I'm not starving night and day, and my heartburn keeps getting worse. My belly button already popped. I hate that. It looks like a bird beak from my angle.
Thankfully my morning sickness died down. I still get that icky feeling from some foods. But I'm not nauseous all day. Yayyyy! I actually lost 2lbs so far.. But I look like I did my last pregnancy around 5 months. So at least I know baby is growing!
Yay, 2 nd trimester!
Still sick every morning, still nauseous if I don't constantly snack all day. Hating food right now! Only eating to keep the sickness at bay.
Massive food aversions to anything green and healthy which is a real nightmare and opposite to how I want to eat ( and ate prior to pregnancy).
Very very sore breasts still too. Anyone else? They feel so bruised and lumpy.
Fatigue has been worse this week too. I'm dog tired within 3 hrs of getting up in the morning and luckily get to nap most days. It is possible that this is not all due to the pregnancy as I have Lyme disease too.
My belly is huge! But not quite big enough for pregnancy clothes so I'm in clothes 2 sizes bigger instead.
One good thing is now the uterus has moved up, I'm no longer getting up at 3 am to pee...I can go until 6 am yay!
13 was the magic number for me. I will be 14 weeks this week. I have been feeling much better. Still hungry all the time and a little fatigued but I can't complain. We got the flu this week and it gave me a bit of perspective. I feel damn better.
My nausea is getting better and the actual vomiting was gone, but back this week. There is this bread or flour smell in the kitchen that won't go away. I don't know where it's coming from, maybe it is embedded in the paint. Every morning I come into the kitchen and dry heave into the sink until it is over. I even quit making bread (we have a bread machine) and started buying it to minimize the smell, but it just won't go away!!! I'm considering wiping down all of the walls, cabinets and floors to see if that helps.
12 weeks tomorrow, starting to feel a bit better...no actual vomit for three days, and I'm actually enjoying eating some meals. Still bone tired, though, and still getting dizzy quite a bit.
I am 13 weeks (today). I was nauseous weeks 9-11 and then it settled a bit. But wow, these past few days have thrown me for a loop with sporadic nausea throughout the day that can get pretty intense and doesn't seem to be settled after I eat (like it used to). Through my pregnancy to date, I had not thrown up until just a few minutes ago. Has anyone else experienced a spike in MS at this stage? No fun!

Is there a chance you have a stomach bug? I have never thrown up during the first trimester, but one pregnancy I got a stomach bug in the 2nd trimester and experienced the throwing up then. With kids going back to school and such, stomach bugs are starting to pop back up again.
Btw, stomach bugs during pregnancy should be outlawed. Going 24 hours without eating was awful. After the bug was over, I had to take another day or two to just rest and EAT to get my strength back.
Forest- I have! The night before last I was totally taken by surprise with intense nausea. I had it in the morning too. This was after it had gotten a lot better. I've been okay today though. I am 15 weeks! The second trimester always flies by. And then the third comes and time just barely seems to creep along....
I am almost 14 weeks and still having the nausea. I threw up again this morning. That only makes the 9th time, but I even had protein before bed to minimize this.
I thought I was in the clear - I had three really awesome, virtually nausea-free days, then today was the worst day yet. I couldn't keep anything down until the afternoon, plus a pounding headache. I have zofran that I try not to take, but I took one today and even threw that right up. This afternoon has been better, at least the vomiting has stopped and the headache has tapered off mostly. Hopefully I can sleep tonight and tomorrow will be better...
12 weeks and the general flu feeling is MUCH better. I still get very nauseous when I am hungry and I have actually been throwing up more.. but I get it over with and then I feel alright. I will say that exhaustion has kicked in like crazy.. I felt like a turtle stampeding through peanut butter all day today lol.
After my fretting about decreasing symptoms at 11-12 weeks, at 13 weeks I feel worse. Nauseous, throwing up here and there, exhausted, but not able to nap (never been any good at that). And my in laws are coming to visit for a week (in or tiny apartment). Praying this babe will help me pull it together for the visit!
14 weeks today and I am feeling more energy, as long as I don't try to do too much physically. Also, this new symptom where all of the sudden I feel that I have a very empty stomach and if I don't eat right this second I might throw up. The other night I did throw up because I didn't make a sandwich in time.
My midwife thought if I told my kids then my morning sickness would ease up. It is worse though. Just since Tuesday, I have thrown up 4 times. That is 50% of what I have done the rest of the time.
I'm working on 16 weeks. I feel like my energy level has come up.. I'm still a little sleepy. But not like I was. My morning sickness is GONE. Thank goodness. That being said, I still get grossed out on certain things. It just doesn't make me sick for the rest of the day. My boobs are still a little sore. I'm getting headaches now. But its manageable. All in all. I'm having a better second trimester than a first trimester. My first pregnancy was a breeze. I had sore boobs but that was it. I was shocked with all these symptoms this time. I didn't know how to handle them. But I got the hang of it hehe.
16 weeks, and feeling a shift in the low energy. YES!!!
Now I'm just feeling FAT, though. And my digestion is so slow that this fat feeling lasts half the day, and the fullness of my stomach from a regular meal is very uncomfortable.
But! I have energy... and that's what I've been wanting the past nearly 4 months!
I'm 17.5 weeks and feeling lush and lovely. NO sickness at all this pregnancy ( or any of them ) just bone tiredness for first 13 weeks. I'm pretty peppy now and only need a nap a few times a week. Super interested in my man, and all men, for that matter! They all look yummy and sexy and attractive, and half the women I see too:xThis baby was a big surprise but we are so excited. My uterus is high and hard when my bladder's full in the morning but otherwise I just look over full all day! I can feel wee flutterings at night after a good meal. I think this is a good sticky baby, thank God.
My boobs ACHE all day and the thought of hotdogs is my only aversion so far. I did gag on my prenatals today, but was able to spit them out in time. My hubby found out the gender of our wee one when we had an ultrasound, but I like the surprise of finding out after labor. Most folks think this is crazy but it worked for all our other babies. DD age 12, is slowly warming to the idea of a baby, very slowly and grumpily, but DD age 10 and 7 are super happy and loving and kissing my tummy every chance they get.
@redhotmama
I'm jealous you feel so lovely. I want to feel lovely. I want everyone to look yummy to me. Ugh, it's been too long.
