Holy moly! My baby is here already!
My BP got a little extra squirrelly (consistent 160/98) the last few days, baby was being a little quiet, and we had some placenta issues on our 20 week scan that each thing individually was fine but together were showing a trend. My midwife and I decided to do a stretch and sweep yesterday morning at my 36 week (I was 36+5) visit just to see.
I was already 4cm and contracting so it was probably about time. I finished up my morning patients and then contractions suddenly became consistent and 3min apart. Cancelled my afternoon, headed home, and called husband to head home soonish. I was so not ready to have a baby but it quickly became clear she was coming. I got home at 2, picked up the house between contractions, my older daughter helped get bed ready. Finally hubby meandered home around 3. One of the birth assistants came over at 4 with a missing piece of the tub and decided to rally the midwife and team because I was not talking anymore and getting vocal. Everyone got to the house after 5 and I got in a partially filled tub in transition and was pushing quickly. I could feel bulging BOW when I checked myself and wanted desperately to pop it but it wouldn't budge, but cervix was completely out of way. Finally water broke at height of contrx and I could feel her head. She was waterborn into my hands at 6:09. My first exclamation was how tiny she is. My previous babies were 7#15, 9#12, and 8#8. She weighed in at 5#5oz and had a tiny placenta. She had no issues at birth and everyone is happy and healthy though a little shocked!
