So last night, I had a much needed girls night out with my bestie and had a cafe mocha at 7pm... and COULD NOT SLEEP. haha. I should know better, but oh well. My baby also seemed like she couldn't sleep as she was very active.
I have been thinking my baby was in ROP position for a while and realized I should probably sleep more on my left side to get her to swing to the left (I favor my right). We poked and prodded each other last night and I feel like her butt is up high on my right side and I felt her knee/thigh (I think) sticking STRAIGHT OUT of my belly above my naval. It was unreal. I could feel everything by palpating. I have always had an anterior placenta (still do) so I don't often get to experience the sticking out of body parts... it makes me wonder if my placenta is low lying... I don't feel much down low (from her head and hands) and maybe that is because my placenta is blocking sensation?? Just a guess!
Her feet are totally on my left side. It makes me a little nervous that this is her position of choice lately because my son (my first baby) was in this exact position for a good two months before labor (ROP/ROA) and he rotated direct OP in labor and I had to have a cesarean with him. :frown: My next two babies were LOA/LOT in the month prior to birth and stayed anterior.
I know we have plenty of time... I'm only 33 weeks... but it is interesting to think about.
Anyone else able to feel their baby's position??
I plan on midwifery school one day and I know I won't always have access to a pregnant belly to palpate (this is likely our last baby) so I like to feel my little wombling for practice. Hopefully she isn't too annoyed!
