I am five weeks pregnant today, after two years of trying. I had a blood test on Monday (7/21/14). They said my beta hcg count was 749 and my progesterone was 54. I am scheduled for another blood test on this upcoming Monday. I was wondering if these are good numbers. This is our first pregnancy and it has taken two years to get this far. Just a little concerned. Does anyone understand these numbers? The more I google the more I wish I didn't have internet
Sorry, I can't offer any help on the Betas, but my best advice is to stay as far away from Google as possible! Lol! I learned this with my first as well Every pregnancy symptoms has a good and a bad and it is hard to not assume the worst when reading!
Congratulations!! I wish I knew about the betas (sorry, I've never had that test), but I agree with ECmommy77 that you should not read too much on Google about pregnancy. There's a lot of bad stuff, but the only stuff that really matters is YOUR stuff, which is going to be unique to you, and different than anything you read about.
So, don't stress! Stress is bad for you & bad for your little bean. Just relax & enjoy. Welcome to the DDC, and welcome to the most popular EDD in our DDC (I think).
This website might help you with the betas but you need to know your days past ovulation (or roughly). What dpo was that beta drawn? Do you know? http://www.betabase.info/
Progesterone is nice and high though.
They should draw a second beta 48 hours later. That is the really important thing-it should double in 48 hours.
That website shows there is a huge range of normal for betas.
