Ha ha, I always wondered that about twin mamas too! Like - what did your face look like when you saw two babies on the screen? LOL
Actually I didn't even feel that surprised - I knew something was different this time, and there had to be a reason I could feel my uterus by 10 weeks. I saw the two babies before the midwife said anything, and I just thought "yep, there we go"
I had a freaky 6 month cycle before I got pregnant, so I guess that accounts for a double ovulation?
The bigger boys (7 and almost 5) are super excited! The 5yo is always talking to, and kissing my belly We didn't make a big gender announcement, because I don't want to hear all the stupid comments, but I said something about it being two boys the other day and they both said "Yes!!!" and did fist pumps, ha ha. So I guess they weren't really interested in having a sister.
I have no idea! It's funny because, before we decided to have kids, I wasn't even sure I wanted any. Now here we are waiting for 4 and 5, and I feel like I was made for this. I love it! Not to say that it doesn't drive me insane sometimes, because we have no family nearby, and NEVER get a break.
I really really love the newborn phase, there's just nothing like it. I love when they start to talk, and are always telling you these hilarious tales of what happened that day. I love seeing DS1 become so grown-up and independent, even though I was sorta dreading that happening. I am so proud to see him run off without a backward glance, and he is so proud of himself too when he comes back. Love it :heartbeat
I love all things Christmas - so fun I love doing Santa, and we always have a Griswold-family-style tree.
It would be amazing to live in the mountains in winter, so we could be sure to get snow. I am like a little kid at the first sign of snow :lol
Ooh, and baking! And eating really stodgy meals!
My memory sucks! I never liked school, so I have basically no memory of it. I remember little bits of being a toddler, like looking at my Dad's baby ferrets, or making mud pies. I remember fun stuff like Christmas, or swimming in a river. I couldn't tell you any of the names of people in my class at school. Clearly a selective memory...
We both worked at a kids' holiday camp. He was 22, I was 19 - almost 19 years ago! Yikes. We have only been married for 4 years, and that was just to make paperwork easier. I was never much interested in getting married.
We have lived here for almost four years. We decided to move a couple of years before that, when we calculated how much less DH would have to work if we didn't have our stupidly huge UK mortgage. He was driving three hours a day, to an office job he hated, all just because houses in England are so over priced.
We chose France mainly because DH speaks french fluently (his mother is french). We bought a big, but basic, house in the country with plenty of space for the kids to be outside
We are staying for now, not sure what we will be doing in another 10 years though! The kids are settled in their teeny tiny school, it is so safe and quiet here I feel like they can stay little kids a lot longer.
There are a lot of things I don't really like about living here (the maternity care, certain aspects of the education, the winters are boring) but the good things make up for those at the moment.
I don't - I have been home since I was pregnant with DS2 I used to be a chiropractor (of humans and animals, but I specialised in dogs). I don't think I will ever go back to it, it would be too difficult after so many years away. Plus I don't really care :lol
I was planning to start a small baking business from home next year, but yeah, that will have a to wait a while...
I had hardly any French when we moved here. Now, hmm, it's ok. It's not as good as I would like. I find it difficult to make french friends because I can't really express my personality in conversation. Yet.
I love to garden, and we have a big veggie garden. I do a lot of baking, and make most of my friend's kids' birthday cakes.
When we lived in the UK I used to do competitive obedience with my dogs. I really miss that, and am looking forward to going back to it one day, when I don't have like a million kids demanding stuff at all hours
