Yep, that's how I have been eating dates daily- stuffed with goat chèvre. It is delicious and helps cut the sweetness which is something that gets to me too. I also like the protein whenever I can get it. Dates have always been too sweet for me but I am noticing that my body is tolerating it better right now and I take that as my green light!
I have been buying them at the co-op but gees, it is silly. I need to either buy them bulk (several pounds at a time) through one of the buying clubs or order directly from cali. I just have not done it yet- this cold has had it's way with me and I have been miserable!
I prefer a salty finish to something mildly sweet. Anything just super sweet doesn't taste so good to me. I've always preferred chocolate to candy - especially with something salty like PB or caramel.
Mmmmm dates and bacon! I like to chop lots of dates into a wild rice salad with dates, pecans, bacon, green onions and a mustardy apple cider vinegar dressing.
Reminds me of a cabbage slaw salad I make (I saute the cabbage ever so lightly) with onions and bacon and warm ACV-mustard dressing. :yum
