Feeling better here...just some annoying seasonal allergies and pregnancy headaches. My son moved out of the crib/toddler conversion bed into a twin this past weekend and I am busy this week getting things ready for his third birthday party on Saturday. How is everybody else doing?
Oh that's exciting! Bed is a big transition.
Sorry about the headaches, though! I am developing seasonal allergies too - never had them before really.
We are having "growing events" over here as well, though my daughter won't be one til next month. She has a yucky cold - the first one I haven't been able to nurse her through. I took her to eat at Chipotle today because I am so proud of them for removing GMO ingredients from their supply chain. My energy is coming back in the nick of time.
Still considering when to tell folks (besides family and best friend).
Are the allergies maybe a pregnancy thing? I feel like over the last few years I've developed just the faintest edges of allergies, but today my eyes and nose were all tingly and I kept sneezing - definitely allergies! So I"m not sure if it's because I'm just developing them as I get older, or if maybe the pregnancy is heightening the effect.
Seasonal allergies are killing me, but that's not unexpected. I am having lots of the pregnancy headaches, and I'm trying to stay hydrated as not drinking enough water definitely exacerbates them.
I've been keeping busy on the weekends doing outdoorsy stuff with DD before it gets too hot to go outside. We are camping this weekend, and every weekend in May has something. I figure once we hit June we'll be transitioning to spending lots of time at the pool.
It's so hard to stay hydrated, I feel like I can't drink enough no matter how hard I try. I did cut out caffeine and I'm trying r include more green stuff (most veggies are largely water so in theory that helps hydration as well).
It's been really frustrating this week, I've been reselling a few things to help with the money crunch of moving, but I hurt my back (or rather, an old injury flared up, long story) so I can't post anything requiring new picture s or met anyone without hep. Ugh. Worse, I can't pick up my kids, who all are used to being held and carried by turns all day with me, so they are so confused. Humpdf. I need to get over this one ASAP!
We had a front blow in a day and a half ago, and today my head is killing me. Silly Tylenol doesn't help and I can't take my usual go-to Advil Sinus (the good stuff behind the pharmacy counter). Ugh. I hate dealing with allergies. Aren't they supposed to be better during pregnancy due to the decreased immune responses?!?!?
We're creating raised garden beds! Six in total, each of which measure 3x6ft. This weekend it'll be time to plant potatoes and onions in the first bed (slightly overdue actually..), but first we need to create the soil/compost/fertilizer mix and actually fill these beauties in!
My allergies are also out of control (and are irritating my asthma, too), but I am trying not to complain, because I have had two sinus infections in the last few months, and I prefer allergies to being completely sick! I manage with the Neti Pot, hot showers, and an allergen filter in our bedroom.
What else are you planning to grow? We were also late to get our garden in this year. I put potatoes and onions in over the weekend. I also planted seeds for tomatoes, beets, carrots, sugar peas, arugula, and spinach. Our strawberries already have green fruit, and blackberries are in bloom. All of our flowering plants are also in full bloom. o, and I still have oregano, parsley, mint, and basil from last season in pots around the garden! I feel very spoiled with all this deliciousness! It is my second year with a garden, and I love it.
jayjay that's great! i'm an avid gardener myself and we built some totally new raised beds 10x10 each (huge!) but my business is based around my garden so it is what it is i'm a bit anxious about all the gardening i have to do this summer with a huge belly and no helpers, other than my 2 year old.
Ah yes! We decided we wanted to be able to distribute veggies to our family and friends and hopefully have a few left over to give away for free at the end of the gravel road (we're thinking of setting up a little table). The bigger, the better. We started a lot of things from seed this year, so hopefully we'll end up with a great big haul!
our frost date isn't until may 25th so we've only planted root veggies so far along with dill and parsley. mint is already spreading and chamomile is very happy. just strawberry blossoms so far, wont be for a while for those yummy guys.
all of our brassicas, tomatoes, peppers and celery/celeriac and some onion varieties are all under grow lights inside until planting. nothing better than growing from seed.
so sweet! I hope my little doll can go to a farm preschool, since we have no access to backyard gardens.
