Life has been very stressful. I know I have been MIA in the group, sorry ladies.

I needed a win today. I didn't get that... Baby has everything she is supposed to and more. There is a sac of fluid about the size of her heart-behind her heart, pushing it out and into her chest. My OB said he has never seen anything like this and cant tell me anything more. They are referring me to a high-risk specialist for more info. I'm freaking out.
Has anyone heard of anything like this? It's not the same thing as fluid around the heart.

So sorry kelseywhitney! Don't give up hope yet though. Weird things happen as babies develop and they often short themselves out. That's the one downside of ultrasounds is that we notice all these strange things that we would never know about and worry about them. Normal ultrasounds during pregnancy is still a relatively new thing (we've only been doing it for a generation or two) so even the doctors are still figuring it all out. Hopefully the specialist will know more. Fingers crossed for good news for you!

I haven't heard of that before. I just wanted to offer you support. Hopefully the specialist will be able to give you more information. Hugs to you.

So sorry you're going through this, @kelseywhitney. I agree with @itybitywity, I wouldn't panic yet. To me, the fact that they can't immediately identify the problem may point to the fact that it's just some random anomaly that will either sort itself out before the baby is born or won't have major consequences. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks ladies. I've never had an abnormal anything before. So I'm extra nervous. I haven't received my quad screening results back yet either. I was contacted and told the specialist apt would be sept 11th. That feels so far away. Me and my husband couldn't sleep last night. Regardless of what happens we are ready to love this baby. So the thought of possibly losing her is more scary than something being "wrong". Keep me in your prayers, or good vibes. I appreciate the support.

When did you have your quad screening? Do you have patient portal or electronic medical records you can access results? Or maybe call your provider and ask for the results if it will help put your mind at ease.
Big hugs. The wait until the 11th will be hard. I hope you get some answers.

I hope the specialist can figure things out and I hope it all turns out fine for your baby. Sending prayers and healthy thoughts!

I received my Quad Screen results. They called me which scared me, more than having to wait! BUT everything came back low, and they said the test was a negative. So there is one win!

Unfortunately my husband just found out his ankle has re-collapsed so he is having a hardware removal from his previous surgery. The surgery is scheduled for Sept 16th. He'll be down and out for a month. So keep praying for baby, my husband and my sanity.

I had my apt today, and to spare another thread I will put it in here. The baby has CPAM, Congenital Pulmonary Airway Malformation. She has lesions on her lungs that'll have to be removed and operated on after birth. That's best case scenario though. Worst case is that she develops into Hydrops. Other cases could turn into fetal surgery, or she'll have to be taken earliest at 32 weeks. So many directions it could go. Now I will go to bi-weely ultrasounds for the next 20 weeks. Keep praying.

Another Update.

Last Friday I had a follow up ultrasound at 22 weeks. Unfortunately the baby's cysts have almost tripled in size to a measurement of 5cm x 3.5cm x 5cm which gives me a CRV score of 3. Anything over a CRV score of 1.6 is considered high risk (80% chance) for developing Hydrops (aka heart failure and severe edema in the baby). I am having a fetal MRI done on Tuesday and will wait for the results immediately. I could possibly be transferred to Houston for specialized care.

I also was admitted to the ER last night for spotting and contractions. That did turn out to be non threatening and I was released in a few hours. THANKFULLY. My husband also had his surgery and is recovering well enough. He did come back with a bone infection, but is doing good aside from that. He will have to be off his feet for another 5 weeks and work his way back to weigh bearing after that time. So I think the ER Dr. was right when he said the spotting was stress induced and over exertion. (HEAVY SIGH) They told me to take it easier if possible. HA!

@kelseywhitney -- so sorry to hear the news wasn't positive. Thinking of you and your wee one and also hoping you have some help to manage the house and your little ones while your hubby is laid up. I can't imagine the stress you must be feeling and you seem to be handling it with aplomb and optimism -- more than I can say for myself a lot of days. You're an inspiration!

Hey y'all.

I've been in Houston for the last three weeks. I was admitted up until last Friday. My little one, Camry, on top of everything developed Hydrops. I have Polyhydramnios. She has had two fetal surgeries done. They placed shunts to drain the fluid in an effort to reverse the Hydrops. It hasn't worked.

I'll be 29 weeks Friday. I meet with my dr's after my scan that morning to decide if we deliver, do an exit proceeded or open fetal surgery in an attempt to remove her tumor. Which is the cause of the Hydrops.

My husband is still not back at work, but on the mend. I miss my kids. Keep us in your prayers.

I guess I didn't update but they switch my diagnosis to posterior mediastinal lymphagioma. Aka a chest tumor that's is cystic and a malformation of the lymph nodes, no longer a CCAM diagnosis. Her condition is so rare my dr has never seen her situation specificity, especially presented with Hydrops.
