I'm in, but my restrictions are a bit looser!

I'm letting myself test at what is either 8/10 DPO (I was sick so my chart's a little whacked out), on Thanksgiving. We're spending it with both our immediate families, and I'd like to tell them on the off chance it would come back positive.

After that, nothing until 14 DPO. Seriously.

Of course, my LP has been 7 days so this might be all for naught. Oh, that reminds me to take my b6!

Ok girls, I know that I am early in starting this thread (only CD7.. hahah) but I'm sure there are other ladies out there who don't want to get BFN after BFN this cycle. So I'm starting a new No Test Promise thread. That mean no testing until AF is due! We'll hold each other accountable! Anyone up for it?

Here is what I want to be held accountable to:

-No testing until 17DPO as my LP has been lengthening
-No temping after 6-7DPO (just to confirm ovulation). Temping makes me crazy!
-No obsessing over "symptoms"

I just want this TWW to be less stressful, especially since it will be ending one way or another, around Christmas. I refuse to let myself get so into it this cycle, as I was SO hopeful last cycle and all BFNs.

Anyone with me?

Count me in too, Kali.
I overanalyzed every symptom last cycle and took 3 tests, all with BFNs. AF was 3 days late and it was stressful. This cycle I plan on testing on 16 DPO, which is 12/10.
Thanks for starting this thread!

Count me in too.

I plan to test 14 dpo (Dec. 4). My LP is usually 12-13 days so I think 14 dpo is a good test goal for me.

I just want to add that I find I get very caught up when everyone else starts testing... so I'm happy you've started this thread. Thanks!

YAY! Kali!!!!

Way to go for the NPOAS thread. I did it back in August, I guess. Hope it brings you good luck.

Ladies, you can absolutely do this. And I'm going to stalk this thread as a former host. It's so much less nerve-wracking (and cheaper too) to just wait. And I found that if there was someone going through it with me that I was much less likely to just randomly POAS.

I'm hoping the best for all of you!
Fingers crossed and

Thank you for starting this up again, Kali!

I want to join! Testing too early is the pits! We're strong, and we can be patient!

I won't be ovulating until early December, but I'd like to commit to 15 dpo. I don't want to get caught up in the POAS drama and might even wait until 18 dpo, if my husband and I can handle it.

I keep telling myself that those plastic tests are not only a waste of money; they're a waste of earth's resources. : I think that perspective might steel my resolve. (So please remind me of that if you find me here whining come December 15!)

And thanks to music, the magical mother-charm of the thread.

I'm on CD 2, but I intend to not POAS at all until 14 DPO, whenever O will be. I will probably O within the first week of December or so.

My LP has been dead on 12 days long so I think 14 gives it the one day either side of that to vary.

Can I join? I think I am 2dpo (my first PP 'cycle')
I am really going to try not to test until 12 dpo if I make it that far. I am so scared of getting an early BFP, then losing it if my LP turns out to be too short. I think that would be much worse than a BFN.
I can already hear the peesticks calling to me

I'm game. I've committed to no testing in the past, but always end up breaking down. It's such heartache. I realized last cycle that my worst days are 10-12 dpo - so depressed so anxious...and I can't concentrate on anything I'm supposed to be doing in life. (who's idea was it to have the 2ww at the same time as PMS?) Then it all passes and I'm happy go lucky again and I swear I'll keep a better handle on myself, and keep all this in perspective. So I decided I would specifically plan ahead fun things to do on days 11 or 12 dpo, to keep me distracted.

Maybe that's something we could use this thread for...to throw out ideas for things to do that will distract / entertain us....something to do with our energy other than obsessing and poas. Like make a painting, write a poem, go for a hike, volunteer at a soup kitchen. Or maybe someone could find directions for a really involved craft project online and we could all work on it together, LOL. I have so much nervous energy at that time, that I need to be DOING something... And then if we turn up not pregnant, at least we'll have an awesome macaroni lamp shade or whatever

Test date : Dec. 14 (15 dpo)

Mom to two boys, 7 and 10.  Expecting 3rd boy any day now with DH (his first).

That was hilarious! I think the idea of having a big project or something to do during the 2ww is smart. During this past cycle, I was involved in this volunteer thing and was out giving little talks to big groups. If there's one thing to distract me from obsessing over my chart, it's preparing for public speaking. I guess I want not to make an donkey of myself even more than I want to be pregnant!

Yay, I'm glad you guys are with me!
Octobermoon- I think I noticed we were cycle buddies too, last month when I thought for sure you were preggo I'm "supposed" to ovulate this Saturday. Here's hoping that we survive the next 2WW

S&L - that's really cool that you did some volunteering. Public speaking - I agree I would totally be practicing all night long, I would be so nervous. I've heard that public speaking is most peoples #1 fear, even above death.

Anyways, I just requested an application for volunteering with local hospice care. It's something I've thought about for a while but never gone through with. If anything TTC might make me a better, more productive person...hopefully a pregnant, productive person.

Seriously, if anyone crafty wants to post a project.....the tackier the better.....We could have a competition....

Rock on, Court! When I get pregnant, it will be my first pregnancy and my first child, so I like to think of everything I do now as cool stuff that my future kid will be proud of. Of course, I want to continue doing good stuff after I give birth as well, but I remember being a child and being mystified and fascinated by my parents' lives "before I was born."

Hmm! This idea has potential! Tacky craft projects can be quite absorbing, I've heard. Anyone have a foolproof project for the craft-impaired?

I'm in. Trying not to get excited about anything, get into obsessing, and this is a good place for me to be

IF I have fertile mucous for4- 5 days prior to O, I have a chance this month. Otherwise...no.

It would actually be better for me not to be pg this month, because my sister is getting married at the end of Aug next year, and this baby would be only a few weeks old, and deciding whether to be a bridesmaid in her wedding would be hell.

But I still would lovingly embrace a baby if one were to come:.

I'm still waaaay in denial and totally expecting not to be pregnant, but still waiting for AF, due on Monday.

My only premenstrual signs are more heartburn/gas, which is more a pregnancy sign for me, but like I said, NOT HOPING FOR ANYTHING. AT ALL.

And I have to confess, I fell off the wagon like 3 days ago and POAS because I was fairly sure it would be negative and I needed that mental image to keep from getting my hopes up.

Negative Nancy signing off

here's what's happening on my end, i used my first OPKs EVER. started testing on monday once a day and gradually got a darker line with a positive on thanksgiving day and a negative the day after. i wasn't sure how the OPKs would work for me in general and the directions said i had to hold my urine for like four hours before testing which is almost impossible for me to do unless i stop drinking liquids for hours on end which i did not want to do so i tested with FMU. we actually ended up with our timing maybe a little off, at least for a boy, we'll see, we bd the day of the positive and the day before but then we were so tired and busy the last couple of days we just didn't have any more energy. FF says i am still fertile and my temps haven't shot up yet. i didn't have much EWCM really or fertile cervical fluid that i could see, i mean the quality changes but there just ain't much of it. like none on my underwear. : if i got preg i think i would be surprised. my cervical fluid today was pretty sticky despite supposed fertility.....so i am a wee bit confused about what is going on in that dept.
