We don't officially start TTC until April, but my SO and I are quite hung up on how we would like to "do" TTC. He's going to be 48 this year, for the record--I'll be 46.

I've conceived twice naturally in my 40s, but we're concerned. If I don't within a year, we may consider fertility treatment.

Is this fair of us, at 47 and 45? Have any of you conceived in your late 40s with fertility treatments? Stories please!

Lynne, I am sorry. AF sucks.

Laurie, thanks for the new thread, you rock. A couple of updates to the header, DoulamomVicki had a little girl. I will check what her name is.

Kaydasmom was due in July with me but sadly, had a first trimester m/c.

Edited to add: Vicki's little girl was born Jan 25th and her name is Edie Mae

VM: Thanks for the updates. What sad news about Kaydasmom.

:Congratulations Vicki!!! Welcome Edie Mae!!!:

Nicksmom: Sorry to hear that AF is on her way. Hoping that March is your month.

AFM, CD 7. Started with Chinese herbs again and I'm thinking about starting DHEA as well. Does anyone have any recommendations for Fertility Yoga or meditation/visualization dvd's or cd's?

Contratulations, Vicki! Welcome to the world, Edie Mae! Congratulations, BelovedK, that's great news! to you Lynn. I hate . M & W, I think the only fertility treatment they would probably recommend would be IVF with donor eggs. I was lucky they let me use my own at 43, usually they insist on DE after 42 (I was just past 42).

mm, could you move me to the BFPs, please?

BelovedK...congrats!! Woohoo! :

I am CD 3 today. I have not been my usual cheery self for the past 10 days. Bloated, weight gain (5 lbs??? hello? Where did they come from, and why haven't they left yet?), moody, down, and downright bitchy around my lovely, sweet kind roommate (echem, cough, cough). I couldn't hold back when she pushed my buttons. Oh, well. We can't be kind and loving toward those we despise all the time!

I'm starting to come out of the blues, and hope that things start looking up and moving forward in a lot of areas.

It amazes me how fast 9 months go by for those of us sitting on the side lines. For you pregnant mamas, I'm sure things go a bit slower. I'm so glad that we continue to have so many graduates. We're not getting any younger, but we seem to be producing babies nonetheless! And great mothers you will all be!

PLEASE ADD ME TO THE HOPEFULLS

Nice to meet you everybody- I'm Lisa, I'm new. I'll be 41 this month and I've just started trying to coax baby # 2 into being. I'm off to a rocky start... had one (day 10? too early I think) good try then developed a UTI and found out I have mono. I got preg last times by doing the simple ovulation predictor chart off of webmd but since I'm older now I figured I will get more specific with charting temps and mucus using fertility friend (which I found out about from this site thanks)

Congrats to BelovedK and Vickie, and good luck to all of us this month!

Greetings ladies! Happy March! Love the new title Laurie!

BelovedK - Congrats!!! :::

Candida - Keep in mind that many RE's have a age limit on how old a women can be before they will no longer do fertility treatments. You are getting to that limit (or already passed it) so if you plan to do fertility treatments you had better start looking for an RE in your area that will treat someone your age. The RE I went to didn't even want to do a clomid/iui cycle with me and I had just turned 46. He wouldn't have considered anything other than DE and even that was iffy. He even asked why I wanted another baby at my age when I already had Kevin (who had just turned 2.) Grrrr!!!!

Lisa -

MsGB - Hope the bloating, etc. subsides soon!

Greetings to everyone else. Currently I am on CD15 and gearing up to O... I hope!

Hi Mamas, subbing!
I am 40, ttc #2 and would like to join you all. I am also nursing #1, at 3, and he is SPD very high, high needs. Since I got AF back I've been trying, full on charting (see sig) and feeling the 40ness.

I'm on my 5th real cycle trying since AF got regular, no previous fertility problems, and I have several friends who've had successful pregnancies at 41, 42, 43...so I have good role models ahead of me.

Anyway, I am currently 11DPO, and trying not to think about it, temp dropped below coverline yesterday (back up today) and I am feeling crampy.

Wife to Bear - Mom to DS 7, gifted with SPD and DD 2, a Joybunny!

Why are pregnancy symptoms so similar to period symptoms?!

I was fertile from the 24th to the 28th (roughly) and had the biggest temp spike on the 25th, so I'm 7 DPO right now. We had sex the 24th, 25th, 27th, and 28th, and I expect a period either this week or the middle of next. I've been grumpy, weepy, tired, overly hungry (craving sweets), constipated (the last time I was constipated was when I was pregnant with Isobel), peeing a lot and my breasts are fuller and sore. These are, incidentally, also my period symptoms. I hate this waiting! We would be alright with this not being our month, but I wish that the symptoms were less similar!
