Yay new thread! Thank you JustKiya! Maybe in a month or so I'll try myself at thead keeping - I am still new to the forum, still getting my feet wet.
My temps have been all over the place lately - I wake up and temp in the middle of the night and they are really low, then in the morning - almost a degree higher . Not sure which ones to trust. : I think I am waking up too slowly, and my furry Flashie boy : who decided he sleeps at my side acts as a heating pad. He's fun to snuggle with though.

Thanks for the new thread JustKiya! Even though I've been reduced to just lurking lately - I love reading you guys when I get the chance. Also even though I'm a die-hard chart by hand-er - I broke down and joined Fertility Friend for chart sharing purposes. Here's the link: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ttc/index.php
Thanks again!

Heya Witchy! I'm 'lurking' too... That's the link to the front page of FF - you have to go into something on the side bar that takes you to 'Share my Chart' or 'Homepage' or something like that to get the direct link to your chart.
How do you like FF so far?

So i signed up for the class the term is from April thru mid June. I can always drop if we get a BFP and yes we would have to, there are chemicals in the daily shop life that i would not want to be around at all. I feel that I really need to actually TTA while in class for that reason, other wise every TTW i am going to be too nervous to think straight. The thought of TTA makes me sick to my stomach. After all this. But i also agree with what all you wonderful ladies said, i need to life my life and it only a few months. Right?
My bummer is just wishing to have kids as close in age to our closest friends as we can and that is slipping away since they are all 6 months to a year ahead of us already and counting. I know that is not the end all in things of this magnitude but it certainly a legit thing to consider.
My Beloved will probably be happy waiting a bit, i can feel him wanting to just ease back into life slowly and not have too much change the second he gets back, and i understand that need after being away for so long, So this can be good for both of us.

on a health note:
i passed on the HSG this last cycle since i might as well save it for when we can harness the boost it sometimes gives women and do it in a few months.
and i think i finally got things in the right path with my insulin and stuffs, cause ...drum-roll please.... i have lost 5 pounds! now this is not a big thing until you take in account that i have been gaining wight almost nonstop (though slowly) for many many years and really should be closer to 140 than the 170 i topped out at a few months ago. i finally stopped gaining and this month for the first time in many years i have started loosing it and i feel great. im down to 163 and loving it. my plan for the next 5 pounds? i have gotten a group of the metalsmiths i am at school with to walk around a local lake for our dinner break, it is a fast paced 45 min walk and feels great. so school is good for me in a few ways now

Adorkable Glad that you decided to go for the class and :: that your beloved is coming home soon. May you have a wonderful wonderful spring! I think your plan is a great one, and it will give your SO a chance to get used to being back.
Congrats on getting the weight thing going! I bet those walks are going to be fun as well as healthy. I need to get back into yoga. I feel so stiff and sluggish...
Congrats to Heintz! How exciting!

Ah yes, now I see! Okay so here's what I believe is the correct link: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/25d8f4

Well, as you can see I'm still quite new to it and still figuring things out. But all in all I do like it! I still chart by hand but it's nice to have a second opinion

Adorkable~ I am SOOOOOOOO happy that you are so close to getting your DH back home! I definately can relate becuase my DH was in Iraq for 9 months, plus the 3 months of training before hand!!! Whew! No one REALLY gets how hard it can be! Nothing is the same while they are away and the butterflies in your belly fluttering around the whole time they are gone. I was addicted to the news and iraq related websites! I actually was so anxious and stressed out and contantly worried that I started having panic attacks. YIKES!

Anyway, just wanted to say CONGRATS on being so close!!!!!

I've been nervous the last week because my temps seem so low on this second half of my chart. They took a slow dive now a slow jump back up. is this normal? ive only charted one month before and it didnt look this way. my temps were much higher the second phase and only went down the day AF arrived! thoughts?

CareCare - do you have a link to your chart? Do you look at the mucus as well, maybe you haven't O'd yet, or else, maybe you're not checking the temps consistently (I found that I have a lot of variability this month, and my furry heating pad : may be involved).

Marina, are your temps slowly going down, or what? Mine are jumping up and down and up and down, and frequently returning to the "pregnancy level." Just trying to figure out if this is normal or not. rghhh....

marinak1977~ my chart link is at the beginning of this post on the TTC list. Im not charting CM because I dont quite get it actually and I cant decifer what is what. It just confuses me. I definately ovulated on day 16 of my cycle and Im on day 25 now!

oh yeah...Im charting pretty consistantly. usually between 6 - 6:30am. I do however wake up at 3:30am when the DH gets up for work but I dont get out of bed and I try my best to stay asleep. I actually dont even open my eyes! Think that could be a factor?

CareCare - I found that I have some month to month variation in how high my temperatures are. I think it may have something to do with hormonal state, or overall health. Your chart looks good to me - I wonder if the temperature dip could be due to a colder night or being outside of the blanket or something random like that. I wouldn't worry.

Tear78 - here is a link to my chart (I need to put it into my siggy) :
I have a lot of jumping temps, but I think I am a lot less consistent right now with temp taking. Flash decided to sleep on top of me, and when I wake up I feel really warm. If I knock him off my temp is lower. I think I also still have hormones jumping all over the place. :

Oh, marina, THANK YOU for sharing. It looks like your temps are generally falling, though. Mine are not. I'm feeling more energetic today, and I'm back to only spotting, so hopefully last night worked and my temps will start to fall now. I was very discouraged, devastated actually, that they went back up to 99.1 this morning. : that I'll be returning to normal soon. Maybe there's a silver lining: if my body takes longer to O, then maybe I won't O until DH gets back from Germany in three weeks. hm.......

depends on your definition of "for good". he is done with this deployment so should be in a home cycle that is usually states as at least a year, but can change if he gets moved to a different unit for instance. and in the bigger picture, well we are still in the Army and will be for the foreseeable future so you never know. We can assume that Afghanistan will be looming large in all military lives for the near future.
Home for now, that is all that counts and soon he will be home for now!

as long as it is pretty similar every day, it should not be a big factor, its a few hours or sleep still and you don't even get out of bed. the other thing you may notice after you chart for a while is slightly different temps on weekend if DH stays home in bed with you.

I have really noticed that i cant compare month to month since the weather is changing and what blanket i use does too as does the heater setting. I have started not making those changes till the start of a new cycle so that they don't throw me off in the middle, that helps. and for comparison i just pin the charts at O and cover line and that pretty much evens out seasonal changes. I assume i am going to have a pretty drastic temp shift in general when my Beloved comes home, the cats warm but my darlings much warmer!!

As For Me:
Big news today.... I HAVE EWCM!
like real stuff that i can easily notice and don't have to go hunting for! like i used to have years ago before all this crap with my hormones started!!!!!!
What's changed? Well not totally sure but i had done a few months of EPO pretty high doses too last spring n summer with no luck and gave it a break cause it was costing so much. I started that up again in the last 2 months and for the last 6 weeks or so i have been taking a green tea extract that is designed to be a metabolism booster to help with a slow stomach and insulin issues, i have heard that green tea or more precisely Matcha can also help CM, so maybe that is it.
I have also now had 3 almost totally normal cycles in a row, a really amazing feet for me! (hell my last one was 14/14=28 days, something i can never remembering happening to me in the 10 years or so that i have been aware of such things.

Bottom line is i have not had ECWM in any noticeable amount in 2+ years and i have had it now for 24 hours. and i have never been so happy about something i used to get sick of! hahhahah lovin it!

I:EWCM

Maybe there's a silver lining: if my body takes longer to O, then maybe I won't O until DH gets back from Germany in three weeks. hm.......
I think my temps may be falling a little faster because my m/c was really early (I was only at 5 weeks) so my body probably hasn't changed as much yet. So I wouldn't worry about your temps taking longer - maybe it would be good to O later, and then you wouldn't have to let that first eggy slip by.

I:EWCM
Adorkable! I am so happy for you!!! :: Congrats on the EWCM and I also heard that green tea is really good for promoting CM. I love green tea, and so I am really happy about it. I think Matcha is a really concentrated green tea - so I bet that's why it's so powerful. (ok sorry - I'm a tea dork)
Wishing your beloved a swift and easy journey. Yay! :

So here... I am about to start the purification diet. 3 weeks - DH and I are doing it together, but we're not supposed to TTC while doing it. Which sucks as my mucus changed this morning to a clear wet kind (not quite the superabundant EW which I get while I ovulate, but definitely something there) My cervix is still closed though, so hopefully I am going to hold off ovulating until the program is over. I would hate to let the eggy go by. I've been TTC forever and I don't want to waste any chances. : I guess I would live if I have to let it go though. *sigh*

Matcha is a thick tea made from specially air dried green tea leaves that are crushes to powder and mixed with water. Since it is the actual leave rather than just the water after steeping, you get a lot more of the good stuff and since it is shade dried and the prime parts of the plants, what you are getting is very pure and protected.
it is also the tea that they use in full tea ceremonies, very cool stuff and very strong too.
I'm a tea dork too, just of the way too much info side

Always good to meet another tea dork. I am more of the chinese green, white tea and oolong drinker. I find Matcha a bit too strong for me. A light floral tea is more to my liking. However, I think all of these are good for you - so bottoms up!

Hi, I was refered to join to this thread, being the topic goes with my concerns.
I am 33 and I am trying on #1. I am frustrated with the process of conceiving, because I read that a women can only get pregnant 2 days of the cycle?? So probably only once a month?? So, I am doing the counting, the ovulating etc... I only started trying in Feb this year, but I am already frustrated, I just don't want to have my first child at 34 How realistic am I suppose to be about conceiving? What method of trying is the best? I have been off the pill for almost a year and a half, and I would guess that I should be quick to conceive. I have had friends that conceive almost right after they stop taking the pills.. so I don't get it. Then again, how do I deal with the process, so it doesn't get frustrating and don't see the sexual relation as a chore for conception? Please help, thk u

lalinda6 welcome to the thread. May your stay here be brief.
I've been TTC for a while - and here is what was the most important for me.
First - do not freak out if it doesn't happen right away - everyone is different and it can easily take several cycles even if you and your partner are absolutely healthy.
Second - I would recommend reading Taking Charge of Your Fertilty - which is a great book that would help you understand your body so much better. I spent 2 years off birth control before reading that book and got pregnant 2 months after learning to read fertility signs using this book.
Good luck!

lalinda6!!!!

I'd second the above suggestion - the first thing you need to do is understand your cycles, when and if you are ovulating, and whether you might have any male issues to deal with.

First, buy 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility' by Toni Weschler. While you are reading that, get your partner in for a sperm analysis - that'll cover the first two easy things to deal with.
Then, buy yourself a basal thermometer, and join either ovusoft.com or fertilityfriend.com, and start tracking your cycle. If you aren't having sex around ovulation, it's certain you won't conceive.

As far as timing/realism - I'd say release all expectations that you have. Release all timelines, all dates, all that sort of stuff, as really, it's out of your hands.
You do the best that you can - have sex at times that seem most optimal, and then you hope, and if praying is your style, you pray. And either it works, or it doesn't. And you go on from there.

I'm smack dab at Year #2 of trying. I'm 32. I planned to be DONE having my 3 kids by 33. Yeah, that's so clearly not going to happen. I had to let go of those dates - it wasn't worth the added stress, esp. since I can't control it. That might have been the hardest lesson TTC'ing has taught me - how to release control (or beliefs of being able to control) something so important to me.

As far as it not being a chore - well - that depends on you & your partner.
You can only concieve within a few days window of ovulation - so really, there's only one 'week' a month when you really have to be having sex. The rest of the month - make it fun! Make it casual! And even during that week, having sex every other day is fine - so really, in the whole month, there are only 3 'pressure' points, where sex for conception really matters. You'll have to work on making sure that the sex then is fun, and if it can't be, make sure all the other sex you have during the month is fun.

Personally, I don't tell DH when I'm fertile. It puts more pressure on him to 'perform' and stresses him out more than me. I'll just pounce him when the time is right, and he's none the wiser - or stressed.

May your stay here be short and sweet!!

The mystery of life isn't a problem to solve, but a reality to experience.
